We actually have quite a few of korean celebrities, host singers and news personel here. We have Sam Oh, Dasuri Choi, Ryan Bang, Grace Lee, Shine Kuk, Sandra Jung, Jinho Bae.. Sam Oh being one of the first to have landed her own tv show called Rated Oh!(2005) and she's a seasoned newspaper columnist in manila times. She been working here for the longest time.

If you looked for her love team, her "partner" back then did resemble the shy, sensitive type of guy which was popular in east asian dramas back then. Then there will be a surge of korean nationals in the country as the philippines became an affordable option to those who wanted who wanted to study abroad and also learn english. It was the perfect moment for Sandara then. We actually have quite a few of korean celebrities, host singers and news personel here. We have Sam Oh, Dasuri Choi, Ryan Bang, Grace Lee, Shine Kuk, Sandra Jung, Jinho Bae.. Sam Oh being one of the first to have landed her own tv show called Rated Oh!(2005) and she's a seasoned newspaper columnist in manila times. She been working here for the longest time.

And i also remember that there was an another korean who was a like in morning news or talkshow before them, i just couldn't remember the name coz it was too long ago but i have a feight memory to that i was watching that korean girl in morning talk show while preparing to go for my HS graduation it was yr 2000.

As you can see in the video, Sandara was part of top 5 and on the verge of being eliminated before the grand finals. But she was saved by the textvotes of the Filipino fans who fell in love with her charm. It was the first time in Philippine history (even in game shows or reality shows) that textvotes reaches a million and so Sandara did that.(*Note: at that time, there is still no online voting or unlimited texts, so you can only vote with 1 sim per contestant. Sandara came here first, and then Ryan Bang, and the the Kpop groups came, the Korean drama came. And here we are now, everybody loves Korean now.
It also has to be noted that one of the reasons why she also got popular was east asian dramas were starting to get popular in the philippines particularly Meteor Garden. If you looked for her love team, her "partner" back then did resemble the shy, sensitive type of guy which was popular in east asian dramas back then. Then there will be a surge of korean nationals in the country as the philippines became an affordable option to those who wanted who wanted to study abroad and also learn english. It was the perfect moment for Sandara then. Years later she wanted to have a more mature image and even posed for a men's magazine (fhm i think or was it maxim) then she came back to her country and let's just say the rest is history.
