- I thought I'd do Diesel's Theme in the Series 2 lineup but this time I wanted to some extra instrumentation to it. At first I was going to keep the extra stuff strictly latin with the castanets and some other stuff but as I listened to it even more I thought a Punjabi vibe would be fun to mix in with it, with some additional sitars.

Despite being a villain, I’ve always found Diesel’s theme so soothing & catchy. Almost similar to asian music.

I think it was going for a "snake charmer" motif, which definitely suits Diesel's character!

In all seriousness, this music is awesome. So awesome that I had to include a reference to his debut episode and the scene where he meets the engines in the shed.

I love how not only the theme sounds like a diesel engine's horn, showing how proud he is of being a diesel, but it reminds me of one of those snake charmer's flutes, showing how much of a scheming snake Diesel was in the OG series and in the books.

Very nicely done on this one Ty! Not sure if Diesel's theme was ever expanded on this much officially, but nonetheless this was a very impressive track no doubt!!!

Not only are your synth textures SPOT ON but your additions feel like a true extension exactly fitting in the vein.
Really love where you took this, the castanets are a perfect choice for perc and that string harmony is *chefs kiss* 👏👏👏
Thanks man, I always pictured Diesel's Theme as some sort of latin dance number but as I was going along I just thought the sitar sounded cool too, so I blended both haha.

In its original form, Diesel's theme sounded fitting enough for a snake charmer, but this?! This is way more so! Hats off to you, mate.
I truly think that Diesel has one of the most fitting themes in the show. He has snake music as his theme, which is PERFECT considering his original cliche in the story was a snake, tricking and lying to the other engines while also acting very calm, cool, and collected.
He’s also a snake charmer in the way he charms the bigger engines as “famous”

Funny you mention it - this guy did a mashup of Diesel's theme with "Stand By Me" - he called it "Delightful Diesel". Type that in, and you'll find it easily.

Honestly, I love his theme. I was playing my bass one time and I was trying to write riffs on it, until I suddenly played something I recognised. I then realised I was playing the song without even learning it.
Super cool! Diesel had one of the best themes in the show; pity they never stuck with it. Absolutely love your original bits too, especially the castanets near the end!
If only CGI Brenner era retains it.
Im telling you the sound effects music and narration are what make this series so enjoyable it just feels like playing with your toys and the fact it makes light of REALLY dark situations really fits with the whole playing with toys ashtectic

Something I feel with this is that if you take away the context that it's diesel's theme, it still feels like a song about the modernization plan

Sinister! Really took what made the original theme great and expanded on it in every way.
This theme always comes into my head when I see a Class 08 shunter on a train journey or the one at Murton Park, a living history village I go to near York...

This was amazing. I never thought I would hear an extended version of this theme. I noticed the extra beats you put in during the second half. Where did the idea for this one come from?
I always thought that the 2nd half just being the same as the first half felt a bit repetitive, and I remember doing a remix of the Breakdown Train with extra strings and thought Diesel's might suit the same style. Then the Indian influence literally came last minute while trying to decide what instruments would fit, then I added the Sitar and thought it suited the style of this.

"What's he come back for?!" thought Duck. "I thought Sir Topham Hatt sent him packing!" Sir Topham Hatt wasn't pleased either.
You could definetely do a latin American ballroom dance to this. Diesel has a groovy theme!

As far as i can recall, no other show i watched as a kid had a tune for when an accident or crash was going to happen. This made Thomas by far unique among the rest.
