Not sure why everyone is getting bent out of shape over Osula not playing…it’s been 5 games, Hall and Livramento had to wait even longer than that for their turn so I’m not overly worried on that aspect. I’m sure they’ll play him when he’s been here a bit longer.
Osula not getting a single minute so far is just classic Howe tbh. Even when Isak has spent everything he has and is just a waste barely moving up top he wont let you on until youve learned our oh so difficult system of play. He will rather play injured players and avoid gambling on youngsters, even to the point of further injuring them until they are out for months. Miley being the only case disproving this, and he ended up playing what, 17-18 matches in a row until his body started complaining on being "gently" introduced to top fotball.
Hoping Howes change in sub-strategy from the Wolvesmatch will lead to other positive changes to his other overly stubborn habits, buuut not really counting on that heh
To be fair even isak had to stay on the bench for some games when he was new
@@Mansukh09 but Isak was given minutes though wasnt he? You know, to get gently eased into it which makes sense. Not like some players getting zero minutes, then get randomly thrown in as a starter when we are truly desperate and pulled of as soon as they make a single mistake.

We all know Eddie likes to bed in new players. He did it with Gordon Bruno etc but when our 2 strikers are both injured and one of your best threats is put in a position that blunts his performance then surely bedding in becomes secondary to the need to win.
Osula needs to start and it could throw Fulham out if the think Gordon will go through the middle. The lad will have to start at some point and it would be better against Fulham even if he only plays the 1st half.
The threat of Gordon and barnes on both wings w feeding off the hold up play of Osula gives something different which we dont have if Osula doesnt play. But will EH take the risk. Probably not but for me the risk is worth taking.

For everyone saying he wont be a great miss due to the way hes played this season, i couldn't disagree more. Hes always a huge threat, and when we play the bigger teams that look to progressively play the ball in our half hes going to get a lot of chances and score a lot of goals im sure of it. I would rather let him rest against Fulham and have him fit for City.

This is pure Eddie howe. With naybe a few exceptions he never throws new signings into the first team straightaway. Even when everyone else is crying out for him. Before isaks injury I fully expect the plan for osuka is/was to start him again Wimbledon and I still think this.

Guys a broke a toe once and its bad, hurts like hell, no way you can kick a ball or even walk straight - it is a minor injury but puts you out and takes long time to heal

Joelinton goes up front for me. More than good enough and solves our midfield issue with Willock/ Hall coming in to midfield.

@bigdawg4003 He was woeful as a striker when he first moved to the league, had a number 9 whacked on his back, heralded as our big striker and was managed ineptly by Bruce. He has filled in before when we've had striker issues and, under Howe, was fantastic there. His hold up play is superb and with Willock and Gordon acting as runners is perfect for what we need against Fulham. Osula needs a weak opponent for his first start and Fulham ain't it.
Now starting to reap the unwanted situation of a disgraceful window, we've wanted a striker back up for years, sicknote has never been a decent back up upfront 😡😡😡😡

If Isak is unavailable for Fulham I'm even more pissed off at Wilson! Big mistake staying loyal to him when last season finished, needed to move him on then but keeping him around is biting us in the arse yet again. He's had no pre-season but was meant to come back 'after the international break' - well its way past that now and his return has been pushed back weeks and it's really hurting us. Monumental mistake keeping him because yes he's a fantastic striker when fit but he'll play 3-4 games then will pull something and be out for ages again. I know this comment is supposed to be about Isak but by Isak getting injured Wilson has to be involved in this discussion because we cannot keep flogging Isak in every game, he will get injured and then because of bloody Wilson we'll have no-one up front which can completely fuck would would've been a great season for us
Why do you think other teams would want him? We want rid because he’s massively injury prone and barely ever plays. The rumours were we also wanted £15m for him too. On top of that he’s on £100k and likely wouldn’t want a pay drop.
So which clubs realistically risk signing him on high wages when he never plays?
@@andrewcharlton6080 Probably Saudi. They can pay high wages and the football is less intense I guess. Maybe that and the climate might be better for his body? 🤷🏻♂️ Apart from that I don’t know what side in a top league would take him…we just had to get rid of him somehow. I love Wilson tho, clinical finisher but him never being available to play football has become a huge hindrance to us
@@Bennyboy138 Saudi have changed their transfer strategy this year. They have stopped buying older players for large fees and wages to instead focus of building the league more organically.
Plus we need to accept that Saudi clubs are going to come and help us off load our unwanted players, the only player they’ve take was Maxi and we probably sold him for a reduced fee too.

Give me strength, if we do not play Osula from the start it will be a joke, if he is not prem ready he should not be on the bench. He is a striker who will get into positions the wingers will not, keep the lads in their right position when possible.

Not fit for purpose ? The more I see and hear of Mitchell the more he reminds me of the days of Wise abd Llambias. Remember when they signed a variety of players behind Keenan's back ? The only decent player we got at that time was Sebastian Bassong, a Keegan signing but they claimed Bassong was down to Wise.

The problem is not is the young lad up to this yet? He's there because our present number 9 is yet again unavailable with yet another unexplained problem, we've been here before just after the takeover when he was again was stricken, hence Wood a perfectly capable, honest pro with a proven goal scoring record in the right team. No surprise he struggled in a team set up to press and break quickly, he just didn't have the leg speed to be effective. As we found out to our cost, when Forest played to his strengths, he scored more goals than Wilson last season, who is in his last year of his contract and has no real monetary value. With abundance of caution I'd keep isak out of this game and play the lad with Barnes and Gordon either side. As for the " cartoon interludes" why ? The content and presentation is excellent it doesn't need the " Hollywood treatment" . It does not need fixing, it ain't broken, unlike our number 9.

Another season another Isak injury. Isak and Wilson have to be the most injury prone players in the PL. Remember Barnes had a toe injury and was out for months.
I'm not in the camp of he needs to get up to Eddie Howe standard. He is a striker, he puts the ball in the net. Leave him out for 4 months until he is ready could be him and Newcastle missing out on 5 or 6 goals. It doesn't make sense

Eddie should give Osula on if Isak not fit or as he seems a bit off lately I would use Osula. We have known for ages we needed another striker as we will be luck to see Wilson he has got to go spends to much time on sick parade. The new striker you mentioned sounds good lets see what Alex thinks of him he sounds great and a great age at 18 so could be a star for us for a very long time

What if its just mind games. Lets not be too quick to judge. Fulham looked a serious side when i watched them twice and Newcastle will want all 3 points but it is a big ask in current form i think. There are question marks about Isak. Did he get taken off for the nose bleed or did Eddie not get enough from him? One things is clear, with Eddie's starting 11, Isak gets 0 service. This is a guy that scored 3 for his country as they play up. Newcastle show little till changes are made, subs come on. Eddie will stick to clean sheet first policy , which they attempt and fail at but it does not make strikers happy when the team does not keep the ball, create chances. Yes you can get results v small teams but the big teams will punish you and the sooner they start playing up the better.
We should sell Osula in January and buy an actual 3rd choice striker

Injuries happen, but Isak is far too fragile.
The problems aren’t the injuries, teams get injuries, it’s the lack of depth in the squad, and that’s a bigger problem.
Howe is a big problem here. If he doesn’t think the lad is good enough for Premier league, what is he doing on the bench? Clueless!

Isak has been missing in the first few games anyway it’s not really a miss. Playing Gordon through the middle shows how inept Howe is as a manager I’m sick of him now to be honest just want him out the club so we can progress. Micky mouse manager that’s holding us back he hasn’t a clue in the transfer market it’s took him £450 million to build a team that plays garbage football and get outplayed by bottom 6 clubs. Enough is enough get him gone.
Purposely done by not buying at least two strikers to what happend last year to happen again is sabotage fire the whole recruitment team I've been begging since last year and was ignored someone's keeps dragging their feet unacceptable no excuse to happen again angry at the club keep chasing defenders bunch of dreamers and idiots in charge 😢
