      And this is how CGI are done, not like today's which are just plain laziness that the directors think over profits than quality itself.

    This movie was so, so good. I believe many were expecting a ham-fisted, schlocky b-movie and instead we got a very smart, subtle, and brilliantly told origin story.
    I hope you cover the sequels!

    This is probably my favourite film in the apes verse. So well written, so well acted....and with a message we can all understand.. sometimes messing with nature ends badly for us.....we need to know our limits and make sure we don't kill ourselves.
    I resonated with koba, that absolute aversion to authority through power. They go even further in the second one with that nature in koba causing a rift within the apes. He hates authority. He hates misuse of power sometimes to the detriment to his own species. Those scars on his face are merely a footnote for his internal scars he suffered under men with power.
    It's so damn good and such a telescope on ourselves and the hubris of the human condition.

Then I remember when the new series came out I was so excited and def not disappointed, def delved more deep into Cesar’s inner psyche and the turmoil he faced with in my opinion greater understanding why he was more empathetic towards humans than his fellow apes (ie the way he grew up, was raised)

    • @happinesstan
      @happinesstan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep. And I honestly think it's time we switched the script and remade Tarzan. Caesar was given the opportunity, but not the choice, to grow as human as possible. I think there is a lot to explore in the story of a human given the opportunity to grow as apelike as possible. Maybe 'Planet of the Apes' is the perfect universe in which to explore that.

      I don't really have an answer but I often wonder about movies and how they could've been done differently. As an example what if Hunger Games was done darker and more like 1984 instead of all bright and flashy? I agree though these are good while maintaining the original ideas still.

    Caesar is everything you would want in a revolutionary leader, he’s kind, fair, firm, wise, and powerful.
    All the apes looked up to him but Caesar knew he was nothing without his people. If the population is dumb, educate the population. Caesar could have easily been selfish and escape the facility and abandon all the other apes, but he knew it would be the wrong thing to do. Every decision he made was for the betterment of the collective instead of the individual. He knew Apes strong together

    I loved this trilogy! Best reboot ever! I really have to commend John Lithgow for this performance. My father died a few years before this and he had Parkinson’s disease. This caused my father’s mental faculties to decline. I almost wanted to cry when he asked Will where his keys were. My father would often ask for money and my mom would give it to him to make him happy. Just like Charles couldn’t use his keys because he couldn’t drive my dad didn’t need money because he couldn’t go anywhere to spend it. I really love this film but I really wanted to talk about John Lithgow who I feel doesn’t get enough credit for this role.

      @@theeLonelyRedPanda Fair enough, I haven’t seen it because of an aversion to live action remakes. I wouldn’t watch one even for Andy. 🙂

    This film series was really good, I want to see Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in 2024.

    Wait the big orange ape was CG? Man i thought that was like a real ape or a realistic ape costume

    Using humans was the best idea! I love apes, but only humans can convey the personality and emotions that are necessary. Also-it’s a nod to the original films-the apes were played by humans then so have humans play the apes now!
