Hi momo how wonderful is this video from the exciting Archery with their wonderful costumes amongst the beautiful trees...to the majestic horse's and the excited crowd ,😊really loved this Blessings xxxShaz 🙏
DTdkf.!
Thanks for the upload, some nice footage there. Just a small and friendly thing to aid dissemination of correct information, the archer at 5:00 is Japanese veteran from Nikko, the archer at 0:53 is American. As it is not a competition we are not competitors, perhaps participants, or simply archers/ riders. Feel free to remove this comment.
Some foreigners do join this event, yes. But they are taking lessons from the teachers. No one can randomly join without training. It's at a shrine of Japanese Shinto folk religion.
@@NilsFerry I see.. it means this event doesn like any horseback archery competition like others event in korea, malaysia, indonesia and mongolia ya... Because this event part of shinto ritual ya..
@@StarGate960 Riders in Shinji Yabusame rituals such as this one, are members of traditional schools, it is not possible to participate without being a member of the school and being selected by the teacher to ride, the riders also take part in prayer and other religious activities before and after the riding part of ceremony. There are however international mounted archery competitions, and sports yabusame events in Japan, run by non traditional groups and riding clubs which I believe have participants from many countries, resident and non.

The scenery is so beautiful here! I could just sit and gaze at the trees...

I hope I can go to kyoto
excuse me, sir, I'm just curious that whether this kind of archery is exactly the same as Kyudo, the kind that students practice in school clubs.
It's a long bow, yes, but the two activities are very different. Shooting from a speeding horse is amazingly difficult.

This proves that Japanese are of North or Northeast Asian origin, cause that's where horse archery got practiced the most.
