9:15 If you've played this game recently, they changed the ending very slightly. While you're lying on the ground, you hear a robot voice say, "thank you for assuming the party submission position" and then something starts dragging your backwards, back towards the complex then fade to black. I'm guessing this was done to make the ending match up better with the beginning of Portal 2 where you wake up inside the complex again.
Also, there is no crosshair after burning up the last core.

2:33 Lets just take a moment to focus on the change in tone that was made here. Originally having a jittery way of talking, basically implying that GLaDOS is constantly having second thoughts about things, messing up her dialog. Now shes much more focused and sinister in the way she talks. Idk I just found this part really cool when I first played it

Lol incase you all didnt know, the game had a small update to change the ending. Pretty much in portal 2 you wake up in suspension right? Well the update to portal 1, you look like your being dragged by something mechanical back into the facility.

I loved both ending, to both Portal games but at least this ending didn't make me feel so empty inside! Like, at least the ending for Portal, the outside has trees, and potentially other people, the ending to Portal 2, we leave GLaDOS forever in aperture, Wheatley will just float in space forever, and Chell is stranded, just going to die in a cornfield... Sad, sad endings XD
If it's a cornfield she is is incredibly far from dying actually (corn is food remember). Also, it was a wheatfield and she can very easily walk back to civilization.
By the way, what's so sad about Glados being in Aperture?

She will die if she gets close to even a Metrocop.
Glados will live in euphoria for the rest of her life as she can now test on the robots.
Well, both endings are pretty dark, since she's being let out into a Combine controlled world. She was better off with Aperture.
Fesiug in portal 2 chamber 10 Glados says she saw a human outside which confirms that man exists somewhere between 420 years and 50,000 years in the future. I imagine that the combine have Been defeated by the resistance by then.

+8bit72HAC What's funny is that the guys over at Valve wanted Hoopy to be 'the meme object' that Portal was known for, but they were kinda disappointed with the cake being that object instead. They even went as far to put Hoopy in all of Ratmann's dens in Portal 2 in reference to its appearance in the first game.

I just finished the first one. I have heard good things about the game and I finally beat it. Took me about 2 hours but wow. It was an amazing game!! I'm starting Portal 2 tomorrow lol.

Glados' voice is so different in Portal 1 and Portal 2...
No, her voice was a lot different in Portal (1), because the core(s) were changing her to be more 'sympathetic'.
That's because the programming of the scientists used to make her less murder-y, was broken once the modules were destroyed, that's the real Caroline they tried to suppress.
That would explain why she's originally so glitch-y and comes off as a prerecorded message.

Damn , I really love this Glados compared to the newer one, she is less dickish and more derp than the newer one , it is just sad that Chell is being a derp and just have to destroy those core and unleashed Glados demonic side.

Keep in mind, the more 'friendly' glitchy GLaDOS was created by the scientists hanging the cores on her, regulating her behavior, destroying Caroline's personality.

Actually, a line was added in an updated version: A robotic voice saying "Thank you for assuming the party escort submission position." They retconned it in for Portal 2.
Something interesting about this video is that it's using a kinda outdated version of portal. Basically back in 2010 the ending for portal was changed a bit. before the update, the ending would end with that scene of you being outside and then it would fade to black. After the update, there would be a "party escort bot" that drags you back in.

I Guess the morality core wasn't really able to stop GLaDOS from killing people (as she tried to kill Chell) just made her feel guilty about killing a lot of people at once so she would refrain from killing everyone. My guess is that the morality core, rather than making her feel bad about killing people cause it's wrong, It makes her feel guilty about killing others because they have use an potential, and she doesn't feel that bad about killing people if they die by "accident" or if their usefulness expired.

I know I'm gonna get all the hate, but...i'm so terrified by this game that I can't even watch this whole video, let alone play the whole game. That voice makes me feel sick and I feel like I'm trapped and everything is terrifying, plus there's no real story behind this game that, yeah, is a masterpiece in video game design terms, but surely is not the BEST game to play if one doesn't want to feel stressed and/or scared. fuck. this game is basically all my bad dreams come true..
