Already people are angry from UK and other European countries. Rollei only came out with the postponed date for the rest of Europe of January 2025 today. I am not affected but that is really dissapointing. At least this should have been communicated earlier. If they only ship to those 3 countries because of lack of stock I wonder why everyone is allowed to buy 2 units. Just for the issue you stated here. Why allow people to buy 2 units each? If this camera is made for interested hobbyists who are film enthuasists most of them will only need one unit. Unless people start reselling... In the end people from UK can buy the camera on Ebay before pre-orders are shipped in January...
I heard one reviewer stating they are correcting a few issues that were encountered with models sent out for review. They want to make sure the camera is trouble free when we receive them.
@@LuigiBarbano Why? When I use olympus xa and om? Previously the SMENA 8M and the KIEV4.... All of them combined were cheaper than this abomination... :(
No reason, just curious. Luckily it seems a lot of people have a different opinion and the sales of the 17 are going very well. More camera sells, more film sells so you can continue to use the older cameras...
@@kasimasi6747 Gucci selling handbags had kept the factory making handbags alive, also when they produce lower priced handbags. It kept the people wanting to have an handbag etc. Gucci is absolutely good for the handbag market, as is Leica for photography. Gucci and all the other brands, at all price level are good for the market. If you don't like Gucci, or you cannot afford, don't buy it. I don't buy Gucci, I don't like Gucci, I'm more an Armani guy... but still I think Gucci is benefiting all of us. Same with the Pentax 17. Not my ideal camera, it was developed for a different target, but I still think the 17 is great for the film photography sector. If it will convert just 1% of the young generation to film it means we will have the numbers to still produce film and film cameras, perhaps also the one you like.

yes, it's a mess lately. Same problem with a lot of cameras. I hope this trend will end soon.
