I use an 8mm wrench to hold the clip in compression while I'm positioning it on the pin.

Hi jim, I was replacing a right rear hub bearing on a 2002 explorer 4x4 4.6 engine, I took the whole steering knuckle with the rear shoes at the press shop, and when I get it back, they had removed the shoes for pressing the hub bearing out, because the shoes were in the way, anyway, thanks to your video I was able to put the shoes back, it took me a long time but I did it, thank you again jim,

Yelp did this job a while back on my '05. My biggest hurdle was actually adjusting the parking brake, even with the tool. Thank you for the video.

Have done other Fords that are quite similar. Those clips can be a real pain! you always make it look easy Jim! thanks! And yes they make me say a few cuss words! yes and that top spring I chased across the floor a few times! And the piece of wire is a great tip!

The easy way to do this job is when the bearing is being changed and the hub is out of the bearing. That great design guarantees you will need both done at least once in the life of the car if the timing chain doesn't blow up first.

This a common problem with this type parking brake assembly. A design defect if you ask me.
