can you sustain your maps running with your current atlas?
Best tip so far: find a mechanic that you really like doing, focus only on that, filter out everything but the most relevant loot.
I personally really like legion for example, I like to pop the legion and my tornado shot is pretty good at that but man maps take so long and the looting takes a lot of time too, and the incubators are not that interesting only when you get a good fractured like a two arrows bow.
I love doing this with Blight. The loot explosion at the end of blight maps is satisfying.
@@Yursa_Luna I started last league and was super excited by blight, imma sucker for tower defense. was feeling kinda bad on ravaged maps and I stopped., today I find out that apparently towers used to be bugged and stopped firing when out of viewrange, which supposedly is fixed now. As someone who struggles to get good gear right out of campaign, Im considering to hard with blight and let the towers carry me until I can buy decent gear from currency :D
@@IplayTeemoasaWard ya I think they still stop after getting a screen and 1/2 away from you. but if you build your towers near the pump, its pretty good.
Edit: The towers definitely work even when really far away from them now. Not sure how far is the limit, but even when the towers stop showing on the map, they still work now.
i also like blight bc you can roll some low/ish tier maps and even IN HC i can play with my IRL friends and we can "HOLD DOWN" our sectors....As a boneshatter/kit while my friends are different builds like SRS guardian and toxic rain etc....w.o having to remotely care about curse/aura synergy bc the builds are soo good on their own and the map isnt super TUFF....but the added JUICE and eaze of anointing some of those blighted maps as well. Then we annoint some of our rings and just damn near afk the content for easy loot/upgrade potential. W.o having to clear as a "group" in a normal/rippy map or have to call out bearers/soul eaters and so on. For me the HC/group play potential in blight is pretty sweet just calling out for a lil "assistance" vs blight bosses or tanky rare/elite packs....even leveling some re rolls from low 70s into 80+ for solo mapping just sit in a few blight runs with the bois and its like the "NEW" cowards trial/leveling XD

This is really helpful! Sometimes I struggle with higher tier maps and making currency. This is honestly a great suggestion for new players or less advanced players working a new league.
Appreciate all you do for the community, Ziz. You got me into PoE at the onset and have always helped build my knowledge base since. Not an understatement to say you're a large reason why PoE thrives as much as it does!

the low tier essence farm is a really solid one tbh, but i will admit i never thought about core for higher tier blight farming, had been using waste pool to get the same effect but will def give core a shot and see which one is the better one
i've been farming money by doing essence + harvest as a trapper both mechanics start innactive allowing you to load 25 traps under them an oneshot them and harvest gives you blue juice which lets you reroll your bad essences into good ones
amazing video, these kind of explanations are far more useful in the long run than describing a single fixed strat.
Low Tier Map: Essence, Beast, Legion, Incursion, Betrayal, Breach, Beyond
High Tier Map: Abyss, Harvest, Blight, Delirium, Heist
It depend/both: Expedition, Harbringer, Delve
What about Ultimatum?
Blight tower does 300% more damage keystone is great against T16 spirited(whatever the league mechanics is) mobs. Tower easily out scale you and handle the toughest mobs.
Harbinger in low tier maps makes only sense for SSF

Just pick mechanic you enjoy and learn/run hell out of it. You'll have ridiculous amount of currency when you juice content properly
I did essence and legion farming this league, and it was crazy in the difference it made in my progress. Normally, something that's 1 divine or more is something I might buy one or maybe two of throughout my time playing the league, but I was able to earn 1 or 2 divines an hour farming low tier maps. It's crazy just how much difference it is if you haven't done any targeted farming like that before.
I used to be in your boat. Now I have come full circle and stopped selling off a lot of stuff because I want to craft my own gear to avoid having to pay 20+div for something when it costs on average 4-5 div to craft.
yea ive been running blight with a little heist just to get contracts and coins for when i want to fully dive in heist in waste pools mostly and ive gotten silver or gold oils with a random really nice jewel drop and its also pretty hands off when its just free currency as long as you just spam one thing
Early league i go for a few points in heist to stack maps and rogue marker, toghether with Essence. on 2nd week i start running all the stacked heist stuff. I play Solo, but i have some friends who also play and they hate Heist, so i get all their maps aswell... For those in chat, basically if you do something you enjoy, you will make currency.
personally my currency making strategy (in softcore) is fast alch and go in like T14 using the searing exarch altars, heist, expedition (oppenheimer edition) red beasts, harbinger and whatever else I fancy. it's fast and you make like 10-20c profit per map from currency and currency-like drops with not that much investment (you can use the scarab sink that gives pack size for extra juice.) but if you do that, in like a couple weeks you can have your mb.
I don't play that much, so I'm not getting a mageblood, but if I'm actively playing the league I can get a 30 div build online.
the main thing is just running maps back to back fast.

I found Essence goes really well with Heist, because you get lots of chaos orbs in Heist currency chests, and then can run maps with Essence craft. I wish GGG add loadout pages to atlas tree, so you can spec few atlas trees for things you want to combine and do at different times, instead of having to respec each time...
How? Essence is not an available Crafting Option on my Map device

They did it now but heavily gutted the atlas.
I did over 600 low tier maps in SSF once I got the bases I wanted for my mid-tier gear and the first thing I did when I went back to red maps was unspec all the essence nodes, those things will get you killed the fastest in the game. Nothing like a 1 ghosted triple infused corrupted 5/6 essence monster to make you realise "Oh this is harder than a T16 boss in a T1-6 map" Oh and better yet cos of the essence node there are 2 of them... Awesome.
I never thought it would be possible to get killed instantly in T1 maps but that has happened to me twice now. My build is the lightening arrow build Zizaran posted that I switched to tornado shot for more damage.
Thank you Ziz, for this, after 10 years of PoE I still get new perspectives on how to play the game :) I will do low tier legions and essences all xmas i think :) Been struggling this league with bad luck and picking some builds that didn't pan out, and my usual go to happy place was unusual gems blueprints, so been looking for a stable income :) Appreciate all you do, Greetings and cheers from Denmark :) I see other comments asking for some advice on favored slots for low tier maps, and I'd like your thoughts on that as well. Do you remove all 4 voidstones to sustain tier 4 Cemetary/Tropical Island for instance?
You have to.
I've used to combine Harvest (Crop Rotation keystone is amazing for low tiers) with Essences and buying cheapest fossils or doing Delves to reroll in harvest craft station.
Previous league was quite boring - had more fun running low tier maps with these mechanics and gained a lot of quick buck for little efforts.
Sometimes switching between Delve and Legion for some variety.

As a newer player, I saw a bunch of atlas tree recommendations that focused on essences (and maps). I thought I was just freaking bad when I was entering red maps and I could no longer do the essence mobs without, as you so eloquently put it, getting my shit pushed in. I was legit scared to put too many points into essence nodes bc of this and started speccing out of it.
Come to find out, it wasn’t all my fault 😅
Yeah red map essences need a strong build.

What was the first build in the video with the bouncing lightening?
If you're aiming for juiced rare farm - tormented spirits cluster with 5 guaranteed possessed mobs not bad addition. Plus 40% quantity from these mobs over juice make loot explosions even more interesting on long term.
I really wish ggg would let us have like 2 or 3 atlas passive tree load outs. So different characters can have different atlas trees. And if you decide to go bossing can have a boss spec tree as well.
what mechanics do you think combine well with running the wildwood in lower tier maps?

After a few hundred maps farming essences I can say with confidence that higher tier maps will give more essences with higher tiers. Haven't tested if it's more worth it to run lower tier maps with less and lower tier essences or higher tier maps with more essences at higher tiers but higher difficulty but the sweet spot for my build seems to be at tier 10 maps atm since those are almost as easy as T1 maps and will give more rewards in terms of essences as well as everything else. It might have changed this league but I suggest people try it for themselves because it is noticeable how much of an increase higher tier maps give to essences.
on trade i absolutely love how easy alva temples with corruption chambers sell
and since you dont care about map tier just the right rooms

Generally spam-farming anything makes money, the biggest mistake new players make is not converting all their drops into Chaos and Divines if on trade. They may have tons of wealth in random drops that aren't being sold, or are being sold inefficiently; Either selling bulk too low, or pricing items too high so they never sell as they lose value.
So you have an atlas tree with essences and expedition for beginners? What passives should I take first?
How does Blight map drops? Let's say I want Blight Core Map, do I get it simply by spamming Core? Or is it something that can drop on all other maps (if they are at the same Tier or higher)? Or both?

Couldn't decide what I wanted to do this league so been floating about respeccing, but just gonna blast low tier essences to sell with expedition/beyond for personal use this weekend.
honestly, i needed this, im getting annoyed, to the point of just quitting POE, because of trying to raise up to upper tier (currently trying out T8/9/10) but constantly gets wipe out while juicing the map or some random boss or just random mob attack... I get 1-3hits then it's over, despite my best effort to buff up all the defense... since most videos here in YT gave me the idea of "get to a higher tier to get more currency" mindset
I really hope POE2 makes respec friendlier to players, I wanted to change from SRS to Zombie build, everything costs an arm and a leg and your soul lolz from orb of regret to the whole weapon to armor...a very expensive decision
maybe I'll stick with lower maps and just grind the hell out of it.

in 2 days of farming essences at t16 i say this: great for ppl with budget characters. A lot of essences after 8h play in 2 days, i made around 50divines and still dot some 5-6divines in stash waiting for sale. It's so profitable. I haven't done it on white maps. However the biggest disadventage is that i love rnning 3-4 maps only from atlas: Jungle, Dunes, Burial and Strand. And cannot figure out what to do to have only one map dropped. The only way was with Singular Focus and Wondering Path, although taking these nodes makes less essences on maps and thats a shame.
As for All Hands Keystone - from my experience and testing - if you take all nodes on +% chance for master to appear (not only one around Keystone itself) for 3 of 4 masters - you'll have 99% chance for one of those 3 to appear.
Makes super cheap strat to farm masters but requires spend almost all Atlas passives on them.
Really think GGG could rework it better, to like let block master to move its chance to appear to other masters (retire master effectivelly)

best thing like he said is to pick what you enjoy and focus it. also if you don't feel like running maps you can literally just roll sextants and sell them for a profit

I just learnt of the existence of Extreme Archaeology. Before this, I always avoided doing expedition since it was so time consuming.

Honestly, essence monsters gave me the hardest fights in POE. Even at low maps they can be painfully hard.
I used to do a lot of essence farming. But with the way people have been handling trades, it just doesn't feel worth the hassle.
What seems to happen is people just spam message the first 10 people on the list and then only accept the first person to respond. Which is often a bot.
I cannot list the number of times I would have5 or more people message me for 30 plus essences and then never respond because I'm not a bot and can't click accept in under.05 seconds.
It got so bad that I was wasting more time and portals with people not responding that farming the essences wasn't worth the time anymore

What was your essence spam farm advice from last league?
Sadly in the last 2 leagues I did not even reach mapping cause running those 10 acts feels more like work then fun and I was fine with that when I had more time to play but now it takes close to 5days before I start enjoying the game so its not for me anymore.
Is delve worth focusing over other content? Like sure you get fossils and might get currency but is it worth doing over jun, essences or harvest when trying make currency?
Don't forget Aul. Can be pretty big money if you get lucky

I too am running expedition + harvest, it's great. In high tier maps if you aren't strong yet, I recommend skipping the league mechanic (makes the mobs take 2-3x longer for barely more reward, at least in exped/harvest). Once you get a lot of damage it becomes worth again.
Be sure you're using growing hordes for the extra packsize scaling, and going for eater is also great (but dangerous) for extra innate quantity for both mechanics
@@hitoseijuro5673running the same tree, harvest mobs juiced by league mechanic in reds are pretty difficult to kill depending on your build.
@@seanjones7822 Yep, im not going to juice them with eater nodes yet til put my dmg into the build, right now Im farming up my end game armor pieces so I dont get blown up on red maps.
A friend of mine convinced me to do alva and it was a waste of atlas points and time. If you get lucky enough to get good T3 rooms a completed atzoatl can sell for a lot but that time could be spent farming boxes, essences, expedition. With my totem build juicing expedition and running away is so easy and rewarding with tujen
I guess it depends on how much you make in general. Based on the light amount some get to play, having more consistent, smaller payouts, works better. When I ran Alva, id say I was pulling .3 div a map from her. It was very common to get one of the two corruption rooms.

I was stunlocked on finding the best thing to do but after watching it I picked something that my build was able to do very fast and spammed it without any downtime for about 5 hours and im at 33 divine I guess its really that easy.

Spamming Altars in T14+ Jungle Valley and Mesa this league has been great.
Ritual might not be amazing, but its very enjoyable to me, and its rewarded me just over 12 div the last 2 days
How is Ultimatum farming in Low Tear Maps ? Can this be combined with Essence Farming ?
Doing harbinger for fractured Shards doing it just for 1 night only made 6 divines i don't know if thats allot 4shards is 2.8divine now on tier 8-11 cemetary maps
That atlas tree you're showing isnt the same right as the one you run low tier maps essence on? Lacks 6 points in Essence and have the "wrong" points where 2 is missing :/ (more essence over corruption)
Everything is profitable. Find something you really enjoy doing and focus on that and you'll make a ton of currency. Do not be afraid to invest in the strat you're doing and sell everything you don't need. I'm guilty of hoarding stuff im not using as well. Just sell it! Things like exalted and Annul orbs and popcorn currency, scarabs you aren't using, bases, guardian maps and fragments etc...whatever it is that you are not using just sell it. You'll be shocked at how much this stuff adds up. Oh and don't be afraid to run low tier red maps or yellow maps, or even white maps for Ziz's essence strat here. Not everything needs to be run on T16 and juiced. Speed strats are effective for a reason, but high level , juiced speed strats take really expensive builds most of the time. So stick to what is the most fun and easy.
Beyond better at higher tier maps, because of beyond rings. You vendor 60 of those beyond rings, get grasping mail that has identifiable mod. Those go very expensive on mid-end league (armour increased by overcapped fire res can go easily over 15 divs).
But it depends on ilvl of these rings. to get ilvl 85 grasp mail - you need vendor rings with ilvl 85+ ilvl

Essence has always been a go-to for me because I will try to hoard one or two types for specific crafts and there are always bulk buyers ready to pick up the rest.
Run that with Betrayal once I get some decent gear to really boost profit.

also the current league mechanic heavily favors low tier maps, as you can actually juice up without getting literally invulnerable rares
PSA: Be sure to edit/lower your loot filters to show low tier maps. My buddy was doing some lower tier maps for the last 3-4 days and was complaining he wasn't getting sustain. He was on an Uber Strict loot filter. Haha. Good laugh...don't do this boys.

Blight is my favorite mechanic in poe. Blame in on my OG thousands of hours into starcraft.

You can absolutely get a lot of money just grinding nonstop a consistent profitable mechanic and this has always been the case, but that's essentially working minimum wage. If you are lucky enough to find it enjoyable, then by all means do it. But if you're not enjoying it, then doing it nonstop 8 hours a day for a week straight will suck the fun out of the league.
Is the Affliction league mechanic worth doing in maps?
IF your build can Handel the empowered monsters Yes, because the whisps boost quant, rarity and currency conversion
As far as Ive heard, even "well equipped builds" farm Affliction on T8-9 maps, not T16. It seems on T16 with full juice you need a dedicated bosser to kill the empowered rares xD
In this league i doing harvest and deli. I stole it from some content creator. I playing TS. I spam t16 Dunes, Harvest is not very good with TS, but i really wanted to test Harvest, juiice is always liquid, so you can sell it. With deli, i getting at least 1 deli orb each map, then with my juice from Harvest i can flip them to more expensive ones and sell them. For TS that combination is not very good, but i really wanted to try them, and still i managed to get reasonable amount of currency.
i wouldve done this if the crafting option for essence was in this league
If you spec into the Seventh Gate on the atlas tree then the essence craft will be available

Blight is high tier maps, BUT with a little care, I can make it even with poor char. It doesn't depend so much on how well equipped I am.
If possible, when you do vids like this and specifically state what build you are using, please include a link to the POB. This looks amazing and I'd love to see how you set it up.
