Breydon Water and Martham

What a glorious day to be crossing Breydon Water. It was certainly a spectacular sight to watch.
A few evenings ago I filmed at Martham but hadn’t posted the video so I’ve added it to the end of this one for you. Lots of classic wooden boats for you to enjoy.
If you’re planning on crossing Breydon Water in a hire craft, here is the link for the Yacht Station in Great Yarmouth. It’s advisable to contact them to find out about tides and the ideal time to cross.

One of the few places you can open a boat up. For me it's about going slower and absorbing what's around. I have my old job back which sometimes takes me to Norfolk. I had lunch earlier this week by the river in Norwich. One day it will be my home. Thanks again.

How lovely. Norwich is special to me as I was at Boarding School there. I loved it. There’s so much to do, in fact I’ve still a couple of things to tick off my list yet. Ironically, the Plantation Gardens just up the road from my old school!! We knew of their existence but not exactly their location. Of course I know now.

Looks like the 'Brundall Navy' have been having fun, putting their foot down across Breydon today. That 'heat haze' looks ominous, could end in a spectacular 'sound & light show' later. I will really be jealous if it does, there's nothing quite so wonderful, as experiencing a torrential thunderstorm in either a boat, or a (good) tent.
From the thundering diesels of Breydon, to the serenity of the upper Thurne. I know which I prefer... Have a lovely evening and enjoy the thunderstorm, if you're lucky enough to get one.

Thanks Andy. I do love a good thunderstorm and always got my children to watch it so that they were never scared. I live on a hill so when the storm is out at sea I get a spectacular view. New camera now though, so fingers crossed I get to film it. You too have a great weekend.

It looked very wild on Breydon Water, glad I wasn't going through! Admire that lone yachtsman braving it. Another super record of the Broads 2020! Martham was a more tranquil option...

It was very windy. I had to edit out lots of shaky filming as it was so windy. I’m not convinced both videos go together but it’s done now.

Totally agree with lori.... They may be no speed limit on Breydon but Broads Authorities Broadcaster stipulates watch your wash... I once had a mindless idiot like that pass me it rocked me so much that it frightened the living day lights out of then my young daughter.....

there's one born every day , i can't believe how fast that first boat was going , that was just stupid & dangerous . there seems to be alot more posts on breydon these days , it looked really confusing lol .
