The Norfolk Broads 2021 - Upton Dyke & Reedham - Episode 3

My folks and myself get on the boat at least once a year. We have been doing this since I was a young boy so this has become a thing we've always done and has become a family tradition.
So in July we headed out with hitting the southern rivers in our thoughts and to get to Oulton Broad (this will be in episode 4)
There was a constant threat of rain but this never happened and we were so lucky to catch plenty of sun on our adventure.
We headed out to Upton Dyke to prepare for our crossing of Breydon Water to go with the tide.
After Breydon we headed for Reedham Village where we just got in the last space.
The day after we headed for Oulton Broad across The New Cut.

Great video. Interesting to see Upton Dyke. That’s another place I’ve not been brave enough to try even though we’ve often hired a 31foot boat, so not that long! 😂

Cheers! Yeah the dyke is quite tight and luck needs to be on your side sometimes to be able to moor at the bottom. The boat yard sells ice cream for humans and also special ice cream for dogs!

Thank you for the lovely video. The blue sailing boat 'Evensong' moored opposite your boat at Upton is mine. I bought it last September and haven't had a chance to use it yet due to covid. A bit alarming to see a new 'For Sale' sign on her - she isn't!

@@ItsLaterThanYouThink Yes it was a big help, thank you - I have just had her moved to a marina and the sign was still in, so I have asked them to remove it. I have no idea who put the sign on, but at least I have managed to get it removed. It may have attracted problems. Many thanks!

Good good! I will look out for you in the future on the rivers. Hope you get on your boat soon as time slips away so quickly and Covid lockdowns have taken away too many good days that could have been had.
