more in nba than football/baseball. it’s just the way nba is marketed, the fact there’s only 5 on the court, and players moving around so much. there’s no real division-based scheduling so there aren’t rivalries. but it’s a pretty recent phenomenon though.
Nah its a person specific thing. Some people like players more than teams. I always root for my home team though unless they get eliminated then its whatever player i like the most thats remaining

It’s also partly a geography thing. There are only 30 teams in the NBA - so less than 1 per state - so most people don’t live near an NBA team, unlike e.g. European soccer where there are always teams close to where you live

The only other center with this kind of passing ability was Arvidas Sabonis. We didn't get to see him play during his prime healthy yrs. I believe that what we see Jokic do is what would've seen from Arvidas. From what I heard Sabonis could move faster and jump higher otherwise they have same game.
Jokic gets some comparison to Bird, but I think he's the closest thing to the greatest European player ever Arvidas Sabonis.
His game is closest to Tim Duncan but more.
