Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my account password. I would love any tips you can give me
@Griffin John thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm in the hacking process now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I really dig it when the player knows their equipment so well...Especially hearing the history and stories behind it all...She seems like a good kid...I've found most of these are with really down to earth people who are willing to share the good so us rookies can learn
Lindsay is great, I saw her in Auckland New Zealand in 2019 and luckily took some great video and photos. She was with Devon Dawson and Brandy Clark. Wonderful to have them visit our Covid free country.
I'm an amp guy, but something about her made me watch all thru the guitars part! Knows her stuff. Impressed. And like everybody else, she's totally charmed me.
I love Lindsay and her painted guitars. She's really cool and a bona fide guitar nerd. I've painted guitars (Strats) before for myself and for an auction. The auction was to benefit the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame museum in Memphis, which is now complete to visit and awesome! And for myself I did two Squier based replicas of George Harrison's Rocky Strat. Painting for me is fun and i'm stoked to another original thing when the funds allow it. I used acrylics like Lindsay did. They def leave a sticky texture though and be careful to get non yellowing lacquer. But the pro way to do it is use a spray gun for the lacquer and wet sand many coats and then polish and buff. Doesn't look so rough that way.
I might have to get on that 2 tuner game. A long time ago, I saw Luther Dickinson with Boss and Peterson tuners on his board and asked him why, he said he's just a stickler for making sure it's REALLY in tune.
Why?... You can do it with any one good tuner, but you just have to know how to do it right. - A regular guitar's tuning varies al the time anyway (that's why companies like EverTune come up with the products they come up with). I mean, as soon as you turn one string, another will slightly change even on a fixed bridge, and once you start playing strings go out of tune anyway. - In tune is in tune, it's not exactly rocket-science-precision, and you'll spend more time on tuning it than it takes time to play it out of tune again. - If you want to be more precise; Nothing beats intonation at the saddles and having nothing (such as the nut) getting them caught. - Well, nothing beats an EverTune-bridge in compbination with a true temperament fret-system probably, but that's not the norm. - But anyway, multiple or more accurate tuners aren't going to guarantee that you're more in tune. - It's how you do it, especially using your ear.
Maybe, but I don't think that's much of a reason to not equip a guitar with an EverTune. - It's practically the same principle as routing for a tremolo-system, and I've never heard anyone complain about how thát sounds. - I think EverTune hasn't caught on yet because it's "strange" and people likely think it's "gimmick-y". Besides the fact that it's expensive and not just a drop-in replacement. - But I see more and more guitar-companies just going with EverTube-bridges by default. But in any case, the point was that it's the thing to use if you just want to have your guitar in tune. :) - As opposed to... using two tuners?... Still dont know what that's about... Seems more like a ritual... Standing in the middle of a circle of tuners... During full moon...
I love the last two guitars shown. The purple one is really "feminine" because of its features, being slimmed down and all, though that would great for me as a smaller dude. And I like how straightforward it is. And I love the dripped paint on the last one.
the les paul is the goddess model. Almost bought one, but got the standard faded instead. Really liked the goddess, but that faded just had so much more tone.
I Absolutely, Love Lindsay Ell.! She's a Very Beautiful Woman, Who is Also A Really Great Guitar Player, and I Think That She Has A Wonderful Voice.!🔥♥️🎸⚘🥂
I have never heard of Lindsay Ell. Gonna have to listen to her music other than the clips on this vid. She seems very cool. And holy cow that paint job on Betty Van Halen 1....WOWSERS!
Very nice , This girl has hands to heart and she is making music sound like something...So much Love, I am A listener of her tones and I am better player Now
I noticed she loves the smell of lacquer so do I and even more the results are amazing left a smile on my face forever I don’t play any instrument my soul is my inspiration to all
@@alexf1525 yes. I’m one of them (sometimes). I play at places that want quiet stages and use in ears. Mainly churches. It’s not the most fun, but it is what it is.
I've never heard of this young lady! but, flipping heck....! absolutely superb guitarist... along with the singer/guitarist of the screaming females, these gals are really at another level...! fantastic. ✌👲👍
Love the EVH vibe of the diagonal tape. Betty Van Halen is perfection. Only someone who has no (apparent) stylistic link to Eddie could pull that off imho
Hey Lindsay I love your music and your quotation playing so totally awesome I find you so interesting and so incredibly talented ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👄👄👄❤️❤️❤️👌👍😇😎💚💜😆😄😁🤪😀😃👄❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a boss GT1 processor, a orange 35 RT amp and also I have a Epiphone SG pro so hopefully I have some type of good equipment but I think I'm going to get a Gibson SG and keep the Epiphone
Wait.... There's this amazingly beautiful young woman who can really play the guitar, who loves AC30's, who paints her guitars the way I would, who's been given one of the most gorgeous looking guitars ever made, by Brad Paisley no less (!!!), who has the coolest looking amp in one of the coolest colours I can think of, who knows her shit, who has a great tone and a great taste of pedals, who's most probably into Eddie van Halen and (if I saw what I think I saw) into Nirvana as well, and who is obviously a very intelligent and bright person. I think I'm in love! Well, that would be a bit silly of course, since I'm a one legged 51 year old man..., but damn... How come I never heard of her before here in Europe?!?!
Man .one time I was invited to play lead vocals and had this Vantage guitar it had a simulated blonde stripe down the middle of the body double cutaway being lefty and I really liked the Dimarzio pickups it sounded really hot and our newly formed band played cover tunes I took it twice painted it..first blue berry hung it to dry on a tree and the paint so thick it took forever to dry.! Then inexperienced foolishly painted it Cherry red it was curing drying but still wet and had to go play it was all I had at the time ! So plugged in and the paint was ha ha sagging funnily but we played never again now I just watch you pros and your videos.I did get a Ibanez Iceman given me to play through a Peavet Renown .enough said you receive this viewer .good day M.S.T. mike m
I find it interesting that she uses an Archer Klon clone, which is the company that was making the KTR before they parted ways with Bill Finnegan, and she has a KTR in her box. (Source: JHS Klon history). It’s also funny to hear her quote the Centaur price at $1800 back then now that they’re listed from $5k - $9k
I dont get the whole fuss with the klon. Ive heard them but they dont seem to sound all impressive. Now i personally have not used one. But im a person where the amp can scrath my icth no pedals needed so i do have a little bias on klons and other od pedals
shes smart and beautiful to match, and I'm a guitar geek myself Jeffrey chad ash from ga noras 1st son 51-year-old punk and roll guitar man from ga, and i also like that she is an amp head and cab plus effects pedal player too, brings out the true players feeling instead of generic computer don't even want to call it music.
From the photos it looks like they made it a very transparent pink finish. Sort of looks like Shell Pink but you can see the grain, which is a cool look and unique variation for her, right with the gold hardware.
Yep, you are correct. In fact, the Mary Kaye was the first custom-made Fender, making it the first guitar built by what would come to be called "Fender Custom Shop". Also important to note that this translucent white with gold hardware was not originally officially called "Mary Kaye" but the nickname stuck eventually. Back when the 50th Anniversary Custom Shop Strats were available you could order a translucent pink "Mary Kaye" I've seen them for sale on the used market.
Strat big? I have mine standing next to my Thunderbird in the rack and the strat looks tiny! I'm 6' and have long monkey arms though so it's all relative I guess. :)
Everyone loves Lindsay, but I'll bet 90% of the people posting accolades(well, maybe not this gear post) are missing 90% of what she is about. I am no guitar player. Look at her written guitar/music/practice lessons and you see a very smart woman. She's the teacher you want your kids to have in the sixth grade.

John is the best. He's a good listener and always so upbeat and brings the people around him up.
Passionate and knowledgeable about gear, forthcoming with info, down-to-earth person. One of my favorite rundowns.
Never heard of Lindsay but loved her passion. Great job.
Cool rundown. Lindsay Ell seems like a really down-to-earth and fun person.
she totally is, I've worked a few of her shows!
Well, she is Canadian after all.
Seen her twice in concert. She puts on a great show! So nice to see her as such a guitar nerd too!
Lindsay is great, I saw her in Auckland New Zealand in 2019 and luckily took some great video and photos. She was with Devon Dawson and Brandy Clark. Wonderful to have them visit our Covid free country.
you live in a biofascist totalitarian medical apartheid state and here you are bragging about it.
I'm an amp guy, but something about her made me watch all thru the guitars part! Knows her stuff. Impressed. And like everybody else, she's totally charmed me.
She's right, she's not a painter, but that's what's she likes, and she has my support.
I like her choice of effect pedals : Xotic, Archer, Echoplex delay, MXR reverb, Boss... I mean, you can't go wrong with these classics !
Another good rundown! Appreciate you John and PG.

John's great.. Love the enthusiasm. I wish he could more vids of himself playing with his band.
He's a dork
This has probably been said before, but I really appreciate that the interviewer lets the guest talk. Good on ya!
No one brings a great interview like John does

There's a reason why Evertune bridges haven't caught on yet. They take so much wood out of the guitar. They need to update their design.

R.J. Ronquillo I’m going to put a board together just to freak out other guitarists. It’s going to be 3 tuners and maybe 4 wahs ...and that’s it! Lol
Very impressed with LIndsay! Another great Rundown!
I think the painted guitars look impressive.
GROSS IN MY OPINION
Its amazing that she’s painted these guitars 🎸 all by herself with no professional helping hands!
I agree, they look great
Simp
Billy Bob Thornton is much taller than I thought
So is Jim Carrey.
he looks way more like Timothy Olyphant than BIlly Bob
I love the last two guitars shown. The purple one is really "feminine" because of its features, being slimmed down and all, though that would great for me as a smaller dude. And I like how straightforward it is. And I love the dripped paint on the last one.
She seems cool. Great player, lots of feel.
This is totally my favorite rundown

this was a good, She has a great attitude. These are so much better when you can tell the person is excited and actually knows about their gear.
Yesss finally... long awaited vid... one of the coolest RR's... hands down...
Cool vid. Awesome artist. Love her work !!~ thanks john.

Guy interviewing is really good. Only saw him a couple of times but will be watching more of these 👍
Hes too Richard Simmons gay..
What a cool, down to earth woman. I don't like country but I'll be checking out her music. She's got chops man.
One of the most enjoyable rrd's for me. If she decided to incorporate fuzz pedals into her board, I wonder which ones she'd pick?
the Pink Strat tho shoot I wanna get one for my Daughter one day.... I like the way she sings has a beautiful voice keep it up 😀
Very talented lady ! 😎👍
That Gretsch is killer!
Mr. Bohlinger is the chillest dude ever.
I came here because I saw the Les Paul Goddess on the caption. I love those little beasts, they're some mean rock machines =D
I noticed she loves the smell of lacquer so do I and even more the results are amazing left a smile on my face forever I don’t play any instrument my soul is my inspiration to all
The girl has taste having the BB on the board, one of my favorites.
Omg I love purple guitars. So pretty!
what a cool woman! so down-to-earth and humble person! Gret Rig Rundown!
Love the interview John Keep them coming!
i cant name a single song of hers, but im in love
I've been waiting for this RRD ever since I saw her post on Instagram about it. Great job Lindsay, you've got a killer tone!
At this point I just respect any band who uses real amps and cabs on stage and doesn't play through a 2x12 closed back laptop.
I feel ya
If only everyone actually could use amps everywhere…
I don't see the problem with digital amps
why is there really people who play live without amps and cabinets????wtf
@@alexf1525 yes. I’m one of them (sometimes). I play at places that want quiet stages and use in ears. Mainly churches. It’s not the most fun, but it is what it is.
Cool musician 😎 nice to hear the passion and the equipment knowledge plus gotta love those shoes 👍
For those wondering, the model of her Les Paul is a Les Paul Goddess.
I would love to honestly pay Lindsay for a hand painted Strat.
Nice video, she’s down to earth, funny and knows her gear! Absolutely nothing wrong about that.

John is a national treasure
She needs to try as Garnet amp - louder than God and amazing tone, and Canadian!
Amazingly by and unique guitars!! And I love the Kurt Cobain t shirt!!! 🙌🏽🤘🏽⚡️🤓🎸

I hope John is licensed to carry around those guns. Damn dude. :)

Now she’s back to Vox ac30s
She said the Mary Kaye strats were pink, the Mary Kaye strats have always been translucent white...
Chazz-J Black Yes. But Mary Kay (cosmetics) are Pink. I think she got it confused

Carlo Von Sexron Mary Kay strats are blonde, not shell pink or pink in any sorts
is John a giant or she is comparatively smaller? ...good to see another strat fan tho
She is little but The Bolinger is also fairly tall.
And he has impeccable posture.
