Am Filipino and candied sweet tamarind is a common store item. So I use it together with the tamarind sinigang soup base and a little brown sugar. Use that in a sweet and spicy variant of instant pancit canton (or sometimes the spicy mi goreng) and boom, instant noodles pad thai style :)
