    Wonderful Demo Usually optimistic, hope it's ok to point out 1 con about the Igloo 6 Gal jug. The small white air breather valve is a bit janke, it can dribble or leak slowly if the jug is stored on it side since it's o nly held in place by friction, over time pushing and pulling it in and out, it will not hold up. I passed on one today at Big 5 and the cahier agreed with me before I barely go to pointing it out, thx!

      Hey thanks for watching! Your trip sounds like a fun trip before MN weather gets to crazy. We are still working on our Glacier video and should be out next week. We ended up traveling through the area quicker than we wanted and into Washington. All of the East entrances are closed to the park and you have to drive around. It was really busy there and they closed the park completely a couple times when there were too many people trying to get in. There is a grocery store that is 30 minutes away that allows overnights for RV'ers that is good access for visiting during the day. www.campendium.com/super-1-foods Also there is boondocking around the NP in the National forest, but it can be crowed and we decided against it. Weather is getting cold and 30's overnight and 50's and 60's during the day. Enjoy your trip!

      @@jennycyboron2201 Looking forward to hear about your R-Pod. We're in the market for one of those smaller travel trailers too. At this point, considering a geo pro, r-pod, or a micro minnie. Also, Jayco has discontinued their hummingbird plan and is coming out with a jay feather micro; which will be in the same category as the others that we're eyeballing. The common denominator for all of them is that we'd get the murphy bed floor plan. We live out in rural sw CO, so will also want some offroadability and boondocking traits.

    I bought one of the soft sided cause that’s all they had at the camp store. It’s 5 gallon with an attached handle. I don’t recommend them because it feels like the handle will rip off unless you support it from the bottom. Walmart has the blue one for about $15. They also have a 7 gallon, but I’m not Irene Iron strong.

    We're looking for a two year UPDATE!: I'm wondering if you're continuing to use the containers featured in this video. Have you come across accessories such as a valved spigot or a hose for showering? Have you considered other water containers such as the Scepter brand or similar?

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      🤣 Yes! We left the blue container with the van when we sold it last year because it fit the space so well. The water bags IMO are only good for a year or two before they get pretty beat up and dirty. Hard to clean. But we bought another 7 gallon hard container when we spent the summer in a roof top tent amzn.to/3lFMMMw A company also sent us some USA soft water bags after seeing this video and they are a higher quality, very tough ... but you still get the drawbacks of a soft bag. amzn.to/3S1w4TH They have a shower head nozzle that worked great for showing wolverinetuff.com/product/wolverine-tuff-shower-head/. We now have a 70 gallon freshwater tank in our 26ft RV so no need for extra water. 😊

    Always enjoyed your videos, Just wondering How your Lithium Upgrades are all working for you while boondocking? You should have sufficient juice to last a week. Does your onboard generator helps charged your Lithium batteries when they become low, Or you need shore power to charge? Based on your power usage is the Solar panel enough to replenish your batteries usage daily? Thanks Aaron.

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are were just taking about doing a video on this topic since its been a good 6 months and we have really tested them out. We can definitely last a week, but we need to have good solar in order to not use the generator to charge back up. Without driving, solar or gen charging we might last 2- 4 days depending on usage. The solar helps a TON, but we still loose about 10% per day. When the gen is running, it powers the Victron inverter which has a built in 120amp charger. So we could fully recharge in just over 3 hours. Watch out for the video coming up!

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes, plastic tanks are a downside and a big concern for many. I think it s important to keep out of direct sunlight and to keep as cool as possible. We do run all water through a hose filter and then all drinking water again through the Berkey. Greetings. Just discovered you while looking for a video on how to change out the water pump (any feedback on that?). You are doing a great job with your videos, music, editing, etc. We have a 2014 Interstate with the 9-seat config. Bought it used in 2016, and have had several system issues over the years. Average use over these 4 yrs is about 1,000 mi/mo. Stored inside at one of our sons. Former MN residents (moved to AZ 40 years ago), so next time in AZ, contact us. I'm interested in adding additional solar power, can that be done and effective without upgrading batteries?

    • @IreneIronTravels
      @IreneIronTravels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Thanks for watching and commenting. We have not had to do anything with the water pump, but ours is located under a kitchen drawer on the floor next to the furnace. I did hook into it once to pump anti-freeze through the system for winterizing without adding it to our fresh tank. It looks like it would be a fairly easy replacement similar to the macerator pump we just did. I think I would rather do the water pump though😜
      You would not have to upgrade your batteries to put more solar on. Our 14 came with one 50w panel that we replaced right away with three 100w panels. What you have to watch out for is if your current wires and charge controller can handle the additional wattage you want to add.
      We do seem to find ourselves in AZ at some point while we are on the West coast for winters! Feel free to ask any questions we can help with!

    does the 6 gallon container comes with a spigot or just the spout?

      It is just a spout for pouring. But, we did just get a 7 gallon one that does have a spigot! amzn.to/2YiiHHf

      Yeah, some things are getting crazy! We did recently find 7 gallon blue jugs at Walmart for $15.

    you need to throw or recycle them after 3 months to 6 after use and buy new one

      Yes, not a bad idea, especially at how inexpensive they are. Don't want anything growing in there! I think we will get the 2.7 gallon ones when these need to be replaced!

    Was wondering if there is an after market water tank one can mount underneath the van? If not, someone should invent a kit for these extra tanks…lots of Class B’s out there!

      I would love to look more into that! I really want to increase our tank sizes on this van and I'm sure many others do too.
