    What should we play next? Let me know in the comments! Also, what are you learning this summer?

      You should do a segment on audition material for 2nd flute positions. 2nd flute repertoire doesn't really get the spotlight it deserves

    Hello there! Your videos are very instructive. As a beginner, what repertoire would you recommend to me?
    I began recently. I can play the lowest and the middle octave, and I'm searching for something to accompany to studies and technique. Thanks if you are answering to this, and even if you are not, nice videos anyway!

      I would look at FluteTunes.com for free options on popular pieces and try a few if you want to play for fun. We will have a method out shortly for a very reasonable price so that everyone can get started.

    I'm an old guy taking lessons, trying to learn how to play, currently learning Rubank Advanced Method. It's probably very boring for you, but would love to hear "The Swan".

      I think I've already played the swan, but i'll check. Happy practicing and enjoy the rubank method, its a good thing to go thru.

    How do your higher octave notes sound so amazing! Mine sometimes come out as shrill or too sharp. Or they just sound too airy.

    • @flutechannel
      @flutechannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Working with harmonic practice can add more tonalities to those notes and making them less shrill or airy. Will have to make a video about that sort of practice if we haven't already.

      If you do another orchestral excerpts, you should devote an episode to 2nd flute parts. They don't get a lot of exposure and are just as important

    You should play The carnival of venice and this summer I am practicing serenade by haydn. 😀
    Also, what instrument did you start playing first piano, or flute?
