    It can't be emphasized enough how quickly, quality animated shorts can be made in Cartoon Animator. More importantly it's just fun to tinker around in, mixing and matching things from your content library, whether its art you've created or art you've purchased from Reallusion's stores. Great work Garry. This video really showcases the software incredibly well.

    Again... Garry Pye goes above and beyond the boundaries of what us novice CA5 users could ever imagine, and he does it in a way that encourages us to broaden our expectations of what WE can do on our own.
    He reveals the potential of CA5, revealing its advanced features in a "you can do this too", non threatening way.
    Bravo Garry... I'm pumped!

    Quite a bit of info taught in such a short time- would be awesome to take some chapters of this and make some more comprehensive tutorials for a more in depth dive to the power of CA. Garry's one on one classes tackles this so brilliantly for the artist and well worth the money and time to invest in these.

    Gary is an extremely talented artist with a uniquely distinct cartoonist style. I've always admired the abilities and characters of some of the illustrators from the old Mad Magazine issues, especially Don Martin. Gary's characters have that unique style and watching him animate and explain his process is amazing!

      I grew up reading MAD magazine and was heavily influenced by liked cartoonists like Mort Drucker and Jack Davis. I had EVERY issue of MAD Magazine from issue #1 all the way through to 1987. They were my art bibles.

    Wonderful work! Newbie question: You mention that it is better to break a longer animation into smaller files. How many files was your video? What is the advantage? Wouldn’t it be better to keep the entire animation in one file? Especially one like yours that is about 90 seconds. That way, wouldn’t it be easier to ensure all the characters and props remain in alignment and the correct position.

    • @GarryPye
      @GarryPye 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This video ended up about 4 project files only from memory. The advantage is, the file size for your overal project is in smaller, more manageable chunks, meaning you dont have to load the whole project to work on it, and in the event of a computer crash, you dont lose as much of your work. I never have probelsm with setting up my characters in the right position for each shot.

    How was the background made?

    • @GarryPye
      @GarryPye 22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This particular background was a combination of hand drawing, photo compositing and artificial intelligence software. Then I broke it up in to layers as a PSD file so I could have different levels of depth.

      No doubt artificial intelligence will be used to enhance and speed up the animation process with Cartoon Animator eventually. As it is, the computer already does all the in between frames for you, so we're kind of already on the path.
