Thank you for the clear information, now I;m off to sell them, I just love throwing them in, did this as a child, and it feels great in real life, working all day!
I was wondering how to woodchip without pulling my hair out, didn’t realize that there is a front loader log fork and it’s way better than all the other log forks! thanks!
easiest way i have found to make wood chips is to cut the logs into pick up-able sizes, and sticking them in the chipper by hand. the HEM 583 works great like this, i just drive it near a bunch of trees, cut them all down and process by hand. worked great for clearing trees around farm plots for extra room.
Which option is most efficient in your opinion? 1) throwing logs into wood chipper then selling it 2) stockpiling wood chips then selling it 3) directly chopping and selling automatically?
Just an FYI if the automatic engine start is on or off you can still use this chipper. When you get out of the chipper and the belt stops that does not mean its off. As soon as you place a tree or log onto it it will automatic start running!! Makes it 100 times easier so you don't have to keep starting your tractors and things!!!
I actually like the way the most expensive chipper works. I have it hooked up with a big tipper behind it and then just tow it to where I need it then drive to the sawmill when it's all full up. Seems like less hassle than moving a tipper under the belt at the end. I'm using the scorpion king to cut small rounds straight into the chipper or make a pile that I can hand load.
Also ... The issue people are having with wood chippers is basically caused by feeding them with way to long logs ... :) Shorter ones are easier to handle and it is a higher chance of getting the chipper to "drag" it in, without using "force".
I don't cut the tree up into smaller pieces before feeding it in. I just pick it up and hold it in place with one tractor (with the thumb open) and ram it in by driving another tractor straight in. That saves a lot of time because I only have to pick the log up one time.
I was playing around with the chippers one day, and I was having the same problem with the little chipper, but I think it may be because it is so small, it isn't registering as over a trailer, even if it is, because I tried it with one of the first two trailers another time, and it worked just fine. So maybe its only good for the tiny trailers?
I found that putting a tipper under the discharge pipe only works with the medium to small tippers for the Jenz hem 583 z and the Heizomat if it isn't the right tipper it will take the trees and not discharge chips
Under buldings there is a woodchipper that sell the woodchips directly to The sawmill, you can also produce heat=cash with another building, there are many opportunities but what gives the most cash?
Generally, the logs are better if they are straight, and about 4-5 meters. The price of logs won't decrease as you sell them, like wood chips would. However, wood chips can get high demands where the price will stay high for a certain duration no matter how much you sell. So it depends really. If you're looking for easy money, just sell the logs. If you're stockpiling the chips for a high demand, then the chips would probably be more profitable. You can also test this yourself, find two tree of equal size and chip one and log the other.
What I do with the longer trees I use two loaders one with a log fork (loader a) and the other one with a regular bucket loader b. I use A to carry the log over and place the log on the conveyor belt bring B over put the bucket up to the bottom of the log then I move A out of the way and I use B to push the log in to the chipper.
Now my question is if this is all even worth it. I mean from a business perspective, I don't seem to be getting a reasonable return on investment compared to other crops. I thought I'd make an energy farm with silage, woodchips and ultimately some solar panels and windmills, yet the woodchips just seem to have a high investment in both equipment and time. If you get woodchips from poplars, yes you get lots of chips, but the selling price is so low that it's almost comparable to selling straw...which is essentially a waste product , if you don't have animals.
Its Jake The Brake I honestly just use wood chipping and the such as something to do while my crops are growing. Don't think it's worth the money for the effort
Dude I found out the hard way regarding that medium chipper...4 real life hours spent juggling logs! I found it easier not to use the crane as it is a complete piece of junk. Rather, I fed small chunks manually.
Thanks, your tutorials are great. Seems like poplar for wood chips isnt really worth it? Also try disabling resampling when you edit your videos, I think that looks better. But thats just me.
Sorry to be off topic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
@Frank Tobias Thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hey...great video, I have found that if I leave Auto Engine start to on and get out, the belt will start moving and give me chips, once I put the logs on it...just a heads up...love your videos...new subscriber too...
I've been using the chipper you suggested, the Benza 725. Is it possible to steer this monster? For me (on PS4) it will only travel forward and back. Thanks for the tutorials.
i just bump it around with a tractor or something if i need a new angle on it. if you're using the buffalo to feed it logs i recommend just buying placeable one as on mass scale you can have one person cutting with the scorpion and one or more people loading up buffalos and feeding the chippers one by one, if you have more than three people i recommend buying more chippers, be sure to have a few man trucks and the largest krampe tipper. if you feel the need you can store many of the krampe trailers and wait for a sale. as a side note because you are using buffalos you will be able to sell logs directly and or load them onto trucks for mass value and even store them for later sales. i only recommend no more than 200 to 400 trees as it will get boring fast and your friends will hate you lol.
I don't see the point of the placeable since I need it to move. Is there a way to move placeables? I ask because I've posted a video on expanding fields, and the number one thing you do, (and spend the most time on) is clear off the trees.
You get a log trailer and haul the logs to the placable. You can even set up storage for logs and stock pile them until you're ready to spend time chipping them.
Where do you buy the claw that's connected to the tractor there is no blue claw like that in the store someone tell me where I can buy that for my tractor
Hey! Awesome video! Very helpful. I have a Q. I drive the Valtra T series as well. And I've searched for the forklift front loader in the menu, but when purchasing a front loader forklift I wouldn't fit.? But I can pick up stuff like mowers etc with my Valtra. Is it a mod? Do I need to download a mod for this? I actually bought a Liebherr shovel for all the fork lift work... But a forklift on each tractor would be better! Can you help? Where to find the suiteable front lifter for my Valtra? Thx anyway... Greetings Maurice.
My BA 725 D Wood chipper starts to roll even smallest downhill when i jump out of the tool and pushes all tools and object what i trying to use for stop that Tractors are two big on front of it. Do any one know some tips, mods or something to stop it to do so THX
hey dude. I really cant make it work! I can figure it out! It wont turn on and i did what you said i should and for example i cant move the "back conveyer belt" and i cant turn it on. So answer me in here maybe its just my game that is fuckd up but... it frickin kills me
Jonas nielsen it didn't work for me during my first try on buying it, when I tried the next time I started the game it worked. I dropped small logs right at the end if the machine and the conveyor belt pulled it on. Hope it works for you I was well bummed when it wasn't working for me.
Thank you for the clear information, now I;m off to sell them, I just love throwing them in, did this as a child, and it feels great in real life, working all day!

When it comes to the Farming Simulator games yours are always the best! Thanks for posting appreciate it!
U dont need to turn off the aitomatic engine start on the wood chipper. It turns on by Itself when there is a log nearby.
Ole Andreas I should say that too.
HA I WAS JUST LOOKING DOWN IN THE THE COMMENTS TO SEE IF SOMEONE SAID WHAT YOU SAID

Thank you for this tutorial. I have Farm Sim for Switch and I’ve been doing it the harder way with the crane

Great information thanks. Just 1 question. How much wood would a wood chipper chip if a wood chipper could chip wood?
omg been looking everywhere for a good tut for this cause i want to get so into the tree business
The HEM 583 is probably more efficient, if you are good with the stick ... :)
I have NO problems with it ... but it took a lot of practice ... !
Also ... The issue people are having with wood chippers is basically caused by feeding them with way to long logs ... :)
Shorter ones are easier to handle and it is a higher chance of getting the chipper to "drag" it in, without using "force".

Btw here's another good tip take a scorpion king set the cut length to 1meter and just cut over the chipper so they fall into the chipper
What's more profitable, selling the logs or selling the woodchips?
Go Away that's what I would like to know also...
Generally, the logs are better if they are straight, and about 4-5 meters. The price of logs won't decrease as you sell them, like wood chips would. Go Away People are still debating
With auto-start "on", you can just start tossing in logs. It'll turn on as a log passes the belt's threshold.
Keep up the good work moose
It’s a different price where you sell it?
I cut it up and do it by hand
What I do with the longer trees I use two loaders one with a log fork (loader a) and the other one with a regular bucket loader b. I use A to carry the log over and place the log on the conveyor belt bring B over put the bucket up to the bottom of the log then I move A out of the way and I use B to push the log in to the chipper.
How much money do you have to have you got a skid steer
Now my question is if this is all even worth it. I mean from a business perspective, I don't seem to be getting a reasonable return on investment compared to other crops.

Hello my name is Marc turner and I am a new subscriber and your videos a amazing
the auto on and off doesn't matter, it auto starts when you put a log near/on it.
I know :( sometimes I find new things out post-recording.
Moose2006LP i figured but i thought i would throw a comment in anyways :)
Dude I found out the hard way regarding that medium chipper...4 real life hours spent juggling logs! I found it easier not to use the crane as it is a complete piece of junk. Rather, I fed small chunks manually.
Is woodchipping worth it?
really, not much
Not that much but I usely do it y I wait for crops to grow and I find it fun I know this reply means nothing after 1 yr 😂😂😂
@@maxhunt5702 still useful after 3 though
About how many average sized trees does it take to fill up that size tipper with wood chips?
Ive bin cutting trees on my property now i have alot of branch's. Can i make wood chips with the branchs laying around my property?
How long does it take for bales of wool to appear on farming simulator 17
Thanks, your tutorials are great. Seems like poplar for wood chips isnt really worth it? Also try disabling resampling when you edit your videos, I think that looks better. But thats just me.

@Frank Tobias It worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
could you use a conveyer belt to carry the logs or won't it work and could you make a video on it please thank you
I had the same problem with the small wood chipper.
whats the price that you will get if you drop the woodchips in the heatingplant placething
I heard the auto sell chipper makes more money then the chip load then sell method. What's your take on that?
What are the heating plants prices compared to the sawmill's?
Thank you this helped so much
You sir, are awesome.
Just wondering where you got the log claw. Can't seem to find it anywhere. The one I do find is for massive/multiple logs only, so no good.
Nice tutorial, thank you! :)
Can u connect it with conveyors?
Connect what? I love to help but I'm confused.
Cooki3 M0nsta 11 I'm sure you can run a convayer to it yes
Great video it helped me
Hey...great video, I have found that if I leave Auto Engine start to on and get out, the belt will start moving and give me chips, once I put the logs on it...just a heads up...love your videos...new subscriber too...
the movable Jenz
how do you force dump the wood chip?
I've been using the chipper you suggested, the Benza 725. Is it possible to steer this monster? For me (on PS4) it will only travel forward and back. Thanks for the tutorials.
I didn't even try. I only used the movement for fine-tuning adjustments between the tipper and log.
No, only goes forwards and backwards, you steer by hooking it to a vehicle
i just bump it around with a tractor or something if i need a new angle on it. if you're using the buffalo to feed it logs i recommend just buying placeable one as on mass scale you can have one person cutting with the scorpion and one or more people loading up buffalos and feeding the chippers one by one, if you have more than three people i recommend buying more chippers, be sure to have a few man trucks and the largest krampe tipper. if you feel the need you can store many of the krampe trailers and wait for a sale. as a side note because you are using buffalos you will be able to sell logs directly and or load them onto trucks for mass value and even store them for later sales. i only recommend no more than 200 to 400 trees as it will get boring fast and your friends will hate you lol.

You get a log trailer and haul the logs to the placable. You can even set up storage for logs and stock pile them until you're ready to spend time chipping them.
The chipper will automatically start when a log is placed on the belt
Do the two placables have the same unit selling price as the sawmill?
oobenoob I read somewhere the placable woodchipper sells slightly higher not tried it though
would make sense since you do pay for the chipper
George Smith - Thanks for your reply.
The heating plant seems to be lower, I'm getting about bucks per 1000l less than in the sawmill
Entirely depends on the demand of the sawmill
Do trees re grow?
Whats the wood chips for?
Where do you buy the claw that's connected to the tractor there is no blue claw like that in the store someone tell me where I can buy that for my tractor
Hey! Awesome video! Very helpful.

You can also buy the heating plant structure, and convert them to heat, which generates you money.

the pimp-500
I just cant get my heating plant to work :(
why are price so rubbish in fs17 in fs15 is was over 1k for wood chips
Not sure. I assume they're trying to cut out any 'golden goose' situation (like silage in FS15).
hey dude. I really cant make it work! I can figure it out! It wont turn on and i did what you said i should and for example i cant move the "back conveyer belt" and i cant turn it on. So answer me in here maybe its just my game that is fuckd up but... it frickin kills me

I think it's stupid that a truck can tip the trailers
Where do you buy the log fork
