- The House of the Dragon Opening wasn’t in the premiere, but now it’s here! Featuring the familiar musicality of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon has a different sequence that at first may not make sense. The HBO mainstay is built around a different narrative, and in turn can’t tell the same kind of story.
Available on HBO Max now, the erstwhile Game of Thrones prequel (HotD for short) speaks about a Song of Ice and Fire, but the House of the Dragon has completely different implications. The House of the Dragon Theme makes no change from the iconic Game of Thrones theme music. They made a new intro at Episode 9 with King Viserys's death.. They have included Alicent and Rhaenerya's kids as well.

that's why his cog in the intro doesn't turn, because he didn't get his "turn" as king, and it goes straight down to his son Viserys
the opening credits for game of thrones were great because they could be understood by nearly anyone watching the show, whether or not they had read the books. The openings for both season one and two of HOTD are both incomprehensible unless you are a book reader.
"HBO knows what people want" ?? If they really did they would have dumb and dumber replaced or removed from creative work after GoT season 6.
And they are not here in the House of the Dragon. So they did listen.
Although they did show the houses that sworn to the Targaryens right before showing the sigil itself

This theme actually sounds way too mechanical for House of Dragon which gives more of an element, exuberant feel than Game of Thrones. They should’ve changed it

it's very unimpressive so far, the lack of new opening music makes the show more of a shadow to game of thrones than a standalone piece of work

It is literally a spin-off. Although I'd have loved to hear a new opening this one still hits hard and works well. How is this unimpressive when it set the tone perfectly and literally feels just like the earlier seasons of GoT?

Said no one , 9/10 on IMDb and 85% on tomatometer , the iconic song brings back chills and the vibe of GoT. It works beautifully
