That first collection you had or rather didn't have Kev brings back some bad memories for me I delivered furniture once up to those houses and although our lorries are 7.5 tonnes they're 36 feet long and 13 feet high and had the same experience as you with the customer saying "oh yes turning around is no problem we get big lorries up here all the time " only when you get there they turn around and say "oh dear I didn't think it was that big " 😠
Those 1.6 and 2.0 peugeot diesel engine had one major design flaw. The sludge build up in the sump gets trapped in oil passages and oil pick up tube and strainer and also the oil supply pipe to turbo which starved them of oil. People replace turbo without getting the sump removed and cleaning out all the other components too and issues start all over again in no miles at all!! Low ash (SAPS) oils and yearly engine flush is key. (Ex Peugeot mechanic)

Well done for keeping your cool in reversing out of that place, I think I would have lost my cool rather quickly lol. The speed bumps on the entrace/exit to that campsite looked brutal, boneshaking stuff!! Also quick side note, that 309 GTI on the Accident damaged Fiesta pick up, just wow!! My dad use to have a white G plate (1989)!!

When i lost my Mk7 fiesta to black ice it was the N/S/F track rod / track rod end that gave causing it to be dragged onto a, flatbed miserable experience as a 19 year old to watch that. Also the engine started with a tap of a key... god i miss that car.

Ooooh, another XUD-powered car, the Peugeot 405. Do love those, especially in estate form! Maybe not that particular one. I can't get over how people just scrap a 10yr old car with 93k miles on it - that car should be halfway through it's life. 309 GTI, nice!

I will always have a soft spot for the ka because it was my first car 😁😁. 15 year old when I bought it for £1000. had it 2 years past both mot's and I sold it for £500 😁
Known for blowing turbos the 1.6HDi 16v on Citroën Peugeot and what they call 1.6TDi on the Ford and Mazda, usually down to poor maintenance and there a certain procedure to drain the oil. The 1.6HDi 8v from late 2011 are more reliable.
hey Kev why is there an upside down towball under the back end by the controls? p.s there are some hand wipes you can buy thats like soap, water and towel all in one. i wont give out the name just in case but they are a WONDERful WIPES and they shift prety much anything. I always have a tub in the motor.

I am fairly certain it is the same one! crazy haha was a young lad stood in the layby waiting for recovery i can only imagine. this was on the A38 around buckfastleigh

Question if I may? I'm contemplating doing my Class 2 Licence. I'm presently an IPAF (Cherry Pickers & Scissor Lifts) Instructor and looking to add another string to my bow. My brother (30yrs HGV1) licence holder informed me yesterday that what you do when you are not driving is also important. Your rest time...and that this rest time can not be stressful. I also hold a private pilot's licence and intend to fly when not driving. Can I do this or is this deemed too stressful and therefore not deemed sufficient rest? I await your thoughts, Rgds Jonathan
Spend your rest time doing whatever you like, as long as it's not paid work, if you want to fly for pleasure then do it. Editing filming and editing fir TH-cam can be pretty stressful, it's how you deal with it, also what might be stressful for one person might not be stressful for someone else. Just use common sense and ensure your well rested enough to return to work 👍 P.s. always wanted my ppl, love all things aviation 😁 and I also have my IPAF for cherry picker and scissor lifts...... Weird lol
Can you find out if the 405 is still at the yard please I collect them and need parts if not as you couldn't collect it I wouldn't mind knowing where it lives but obviously that's more than your jobs worth 😉

I used to have a Ka that colour with mini lite type alloys a couple of years ago. Immaculate condition, though not that fuel efficient unfortunately.

The cars are unloaded by forklift back at the yard, takes about 10 minutes 👍
You need a set of GoJaks or similar.. they'll help you shift cars like the 405 and the Disco from the last vlog.

Yes it's a very light metallic purple but with the age and weathering it's faded to more of a silver.

Hi Lucy, we go to most places below the M4 as a rough line and occasionally into Gloucester. Midlands and north is covered by the Rugby depot 👍
