    Alright this may be a silly question but being in the desert do you ever have issues with rattle snakes?

    • @arizonahomestead
      @arizonahomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @R & R Motorsports Riggs... Thanks for asking a very good question. This area has homes so they are kinda out. I have never seen one. However if you head out hiking in unpopulated areas please look out for them. 🐍

    • @rrmotorsports3541
      @rrmotorsports3541 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@arizonahomestead the reason I asked is because I am hopefully moving to vegas for work and was looking at buying a couple acres in Jean,NV and starting a small farm and one thing I hate is snakes! I also was going to ask have you ever lookedinto using super absorbent polymers in your soil to help conserve water? Here is a link to a Ted talk about it: th-cam.com/video/bTRNSh8e9LE/w-d-xo.html

    "Casa Grande? Uh, NO." That made me lol, I had to replay it a couple of times to laugh at it! I envy your aloe. We have some soap aloe that I recently discovered have aloe mites, and everyone I've talked to recommends razing the area since I don't want to use poison to kill the mites. SO that's where my herb garden is going. Glad you participated!! :)

    Love how you and I talk to the hens. We have coyotes too. I am not off grid either. I love when it is in the 50's after winter. We will think it is hot. But comming off summer it is considered cold. We have 2.2 Aceres too. I give the girls frozen treats. We never get the heat that you get. Love the question and answer section. I also lve the name of one of your hens. I have a hen that needs a name and she is now called Maybelline. 💕 NonnaGrace

    Loving your homestead. Living the dream... I’m in AZ WV and I have a small starter garden learning just does well in the desert. Anyway, my search for pink watermelon radishes brought me to your TH-cam page! lol... I wanted to know if I can grown then in AZ. Got my answer. Thanks!

    Great informative and entertaining video! My biggest drawback for living off grid is I can't use my mostly new freeze food dryer. Have to admit I LOVE being my own electric and water company. Sure don't miss paying those bills!

      @Blissful Acres Off Grid Homestead That is truly a blessing to be your own utility provider!!! 👍 Does the freeze food dehydrator draw a lot of power?

    • @blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098
      @blissfulacresoffgridhomest2098 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@arizonahomestead yes it does. Runs straight for 24 to 36 hours for freezing and then heating to suck the moisture away. We would need a large seperate solar system just to run the freeze food dryer alone. Bought it less than a year before we knew we were going off grid. Now, I dehydrate and can. Today I am making dehydrated pumpkin powder.
