Can u program using a parasolid model, then add the extra material to be removed under define stock? Meaning the model is the piece part without the extra material but add the material using define stock.
Hi Mike! The short answer is yes. To dig in deeper, you have a couple of choices on how to describe the stock to be removed. 1. In the beginning of the process, you can select a rectangle for the stock before you start to describe the profiles which will be left standing. 2. after you have described all of your profiles, you can switch to the program mode and once you do, you can end the profiles and it will ask you to describe the stock. Using this method, you can choose circular, rectangular or irregular stock. As shown in the video, whichever method you choose, once completed, the toolpath will start outside of the stock and work it's way into the material leaving the profiles standing at the end. You do have the ability to choose from any of the three toolpaths and you can also add a Z finish cut with a different toolpath is desired. Thank you for asking this question.
