  • World Menopause Day 2021 had a ‘bone health’ theme and the Royal Osteoporosis Society focused on early menopause as a risk factor for osteoporosis.
    Sarah Leyland, specialist nurse and ROS clinical adviser, was in conversation with Heather Currie, gynaecologist and Trustee of the British Menopause Society to explain the links and actions to take.

    Probably the most important aspect is the exercise and weight bearing exercise. Has the risks of increased cancer risk taking HRT been reduced? That's the reason why Mum, myself and sisters were not recommended to have HRT. 2 years of lockdown probably hasn't been good for bones.
