Jeremy & George bought a 70 acres Ranch in Florida during Covid
They wanted a personal playground where they could keep living life when the rest of the world stopped
So they loaded up the gator and birds and make the long journey South
Then Jeremy & George went on a West Coast / Hawaii vacation
When they returned, many things weren't right
It's painful for everyone to know that he died

Sorry about the loss of your peacock. We went through Otter Creek last Tuesday on our way to Tamps, then again today (1/29/23) on our way back home (Pensacola). I thought about you two as we traveled through. Glad you are back in your Florida home, stay safe. Could the survey markers have anything to do with the extra property you bought before you left on “vacation “. New power lines going in, gas pipe line coming through, just trying to think why someone would be surveying. Had the same thing happen on our back 100 acres, trees cut down, two different colors of markers. Found out one was for a natural gas line to go to the power plant, the other was for a new roadway connecting from an industrial park area to the road by our house. This was about two years ago, gas line did pay for lease, no word on the road yet.

You may want to file a police report about the trespassing and survey stakes. Check the county records for surveys. There's also the possibility that someone has "sold" your land. Better contact your lawyer.

It's looking like you need to put up motion detected cameras all over your property to catch the trespassers 👍🤫😉 then have them arrested 👍👍👍

Just a thought, those markers look to be part of a logging plot that loggers use to map out potential projects. Especially after seeing the cut trees and the tree felled by the telehanlder with the mulcher head attachment .

Birds go downhill fast when they get an infection. Even if you had been at the ranch all month you most likely wouldn't have been able to save him. I hope you kept a few of his eye feathers to remember him by. Such a shame. But it's a risk that comes with owning exotic birds and other animals. RIP Elvis....again. 🥰❤❤

Ask the owner of the power line. they sometimes come through and mark the right of way. they also cut any limbs hanging near the lines.

When you were first feeding the peacocks I saw the one that died had his feathers all fluffed up. I thought he didn't look quite right. Might be a good idea to medicate their water for coccodia. Will be looking forward to seeing who put up stakes. No writing or numbers on stakes. Odd you think?
You need someone on the property keeping everything secure while you're away.
Even official local and federal crews of any kind need prior permission to enter your property, much less do anything that alters or removes anything.
There are a lot of honest people out there more than willing to keep watch on your property for little or nothing.
I do it for more or less room and board and have lived this way for the last several years.
I even on occasion come in and cook for the family whose property I live on.
Condolences on the peacock, and I'll keep you both in my prayers.
