I saw Greg Davies in Soho a few weeks ago (I was too scared to ask for a photo) but I said "shit, it's Gilbert" under my breath hoping he'd hear me. He didn't.

Hey a few years ago I was in a small mountain village in southern Spain to climb mountains.... and in one of the bars there was the man himself, Greg Davis! Didn't expect to see him there. I managed to get a photo with him, he's a giant!!

2:03 I think everyone has had a moment like this in which you see a teacher outside of school. It's like in your mind they only exist inside of the school grounds, seeing teachers actually being humans outside of school time is mind blowing.
Greg Davies was the perfect choice as this character that goes beyond being a former teacher. Just the sheer size of him and how he towers over everyone makes all the students actually look like teenagers when they're all average size in their 20s.
For all his blunt remarks, I think Gilbert really does care about the students deep down
He did! Otherwise he wouldn’t have wished them luck with the rest of their lives and saying not to kill anyone, as he said on their last day of school!

Absolute comedy gold, although I've always wondered what sort of sixth form can give out detentions, I hardly even turned up to my lessons at sixth form (explains a lot 😳), then again, I didn't go to a college that made you wear a uniform when you were 18 - what is that all about?!
