    Man Troy i have to give your big props for taking the time to do videos like this. They are so helpful giving us a heads up for what we are in for. Makes it so much easier and saves time for sure. Appreciate it buddy! Hey on a side note how have you liked your machete to date? I got the 4s one when it was on sale and swapping a 6s combo in it atm

      Thank you for the kind words - I am glad the video helped someone!
      The Machete has been a lot of fun for me. I LOVE how it handles. It has also been very durable for me as well!

    Thanks Troy watching your video and you saying what size the little grub screw is was very helpful. Mine came loose definitely lucky because it was lodged in the battery tray next to it. JJ Customs took off that screw because he was thinking about making a spool for it. But because of the design he decided not too👍

    Hey Troy have you considered going to the hardware store and buying a new grub screw that's as long as the shaft is wide and then loctite it in? Then also you won't have to worry about the torque trying to spread open the hole or shearing

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      That might be a great idea!

      @@RoadsideRC yeah, that way the torque is spread to both sides of the driveshaft with the set screw going through both holes

    Great video thank you. Just added 1 million weight to the center.
    Fyi they now come with much longer grub screws for the columns.

    Great video! Question.. did you clean out the diff oil that was there or did you just add the 100k to it?

      Ok cool thanks .. I tried looking for the 400k diff oil but I could only find 100k , 200k and 500k .. I see most people putting in 1 million but I like turning and handling in my Rcs , what would you honestly recommend?

      I don't mind my center diff being thicker. That 500k should be a good spot.

    I just got the 4S version. Do you have any thoughts on using two 2S Lipos vs one 4S Lipo? Any advantage to which? I currently own a 3S Lipo, and was also wondering if it's possible to use in this vehicle as I'm still deciding to to buy either the two 2S or one 4S Lipo. Any recommendations you have would be great. thx!

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes - you can use the single 3S.
      2x 2S vs 1x 4S does not really matter.
      If you do 2x 2S, you MUST match batteries. Same brand, mah, etc.

    I have to say man I wish I had watched your videos before taking my Machete out for the first time. About halfway through my first ever session with it all 4 tires locked up during braking, and applying throttle did not make it move.
    It's sitting on my bench now with both driveshafts twisted, and I'm thinking the center diff is done for. Any advice?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is very odd. Seems like something locked up the driveline. I would be curious, as you take it apart, when does it free up.

    • @thegloryjuncture6602
      @thegloryjuncture6602 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @RoadsideRC I pulled the top inspection cover (held on by 4 small Allen screws) and found the large gear underneath had several teeth stripped off. The broken off teeth are laying in the bottom of the housing. The small spur gear on the lower left side (behind the side inspection cover) spins freely with my finger. I assume it's the output of the motor? No longer meshed with the rest of the gearbox anyways.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thegloryjuncture6602 Does it all spin freely now with the pieces cleaned up? Just keep testing piece by piece.

    My machete new 4s 15 min into first run stopped working. The motor still revs and the front wheels still turn but doesn’t move whatsoever. Can anyone tell what I need to do to fix it?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Happy to help!
      1) Look closely - do you see anything move inside (gears, center driveshafts, etc)?
      2) Use that information to guide you which direction to look next.
      3) Start taking parts off until you find what is broken.
      Good luck!

      @@RoadsideRC just took it apart and turns out the center differential broke and oil leaking out into the vehicle. I am returning and getting another one and hopefully it doesn’t happen again. Do you know if this is a common occurrence with a specific RC car?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @christopherbarajas5455 Why would you go through all of the hassle of returning it? Just replace the one part that broke. Probably a $5 part...
