    Just a little half year review on these saddle bags. We have now had them for over half a year. We have been in Oregon since February, where it rains A LOT. The motorcycle has been sitting outside in the rain under a cover. We have used the bags to bring jackets and rain gear on our trips and we have even gone grocery shopping with them. Amazing what can fit into these bags. There has been no water intrusion into the bags. The electrical connections all work perfect despite the wet climate. We love these bags and they seem to hold up to the wet climate rally well.

    Great step by step instructional video. Was good to see the fur child in the video. Dachshunds are the 'official' camping dogs. We had three.

    I just did this install a few weeks ago, after watching two different videos I did on step different. I took the Max-Mount off the Ryker and installed all the brackets on my tabletop. It saved me a little aggravation.

      That was smart thinking and absolutely possible. Thanks for sharing that 🙂

    I don't even have my Ryker yet, but this will be one of my first (of many :) ) mods. Great directions and explanation.

      And as you can see in the video, it is so easy to install these kits from SlingMods on the Ryker. They are really doing a great job with their products (and I say that without being sponsored by them in any way).

    Super. Your video cleared up a lot of misconceptions I had on how the wiring runs and why ... because of suspension movement it has to go way up front and then back again. Sure appreciate your thoughtful incites into why you did what you did at times. I will be doing mine early next week and am thinking of ideas to quick disconnect the saddlebag wires so I can remove them easily for both cleaning and operation.

      @@sixwheelsdown7453 8 hours later I got 'em on. One bag would not lock. Found out the racks are "side specific". Switched them around and all is well. Why so slow??? First thing is you are super. 2nd thing is I can be a dufus. Removal of the taillight cost me dearly. Did not know the tip just popped up out of those slots. Had to hunt down that information on another video. Then the left taillight would not cover all those wires for me. That's just another reason they make beer.

      By the way Phillip !
      Read the comment from Kenneth. He had a good comment about mounting the brackets to the Max mount before installing it on the bike. I think this is a really good idea. I would follow his advice, if I had to do it again. I believe it would be even easier that way 🙂

    My biggest problem with Slingmods and most 3rd party kits are the harnesses. For "custom" harnesses the end user is left with a lot of adapters, pugs and extra wiring to hide and tuck. Thats just bad design, poor execution and not what im wanting to add to my Spyder. Sell me the parts,connectors and bulk wire and i will make my own better harnesses. This is not a commdnt about this video, it was very informative.

      @OldWestGirl 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure - I can see what you mean.
      I think you are right, that it would be good to reduce the amount of connectors, the can be a cause for errors and corrosion.
      On the other hand - this harness was very easy to put together and no tools needed for that. Further more we have had no problems with it since installation. So all in all - I like it as is 👍

      If you go the plug n play route, then dielectric grease and shrink tube is a must. There is no green oxidation in 3 plus years so far.

    • @OldWestGirl
      @OldWestGirl 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I put the harness together without dielectric grease and have no problems after one year.
