Welcome… the… flock… in todays video we will b e looking at… THIS BIG PUSSY CAT… I aint kitten around about this one, its a BIG deal for such a sweet looking Critter
Now lets get into the nitty gritty how do you tame these beauts?
These little buggers are FAST and aggressive they are no.. shy little putty tat.. This putty tat thinks its hunting season and will chase you down with very high speed. The fact that these are so large and fast makes knocking them out much more difficult. I would suggest you use stone gateways and a bear trap to catch them, as you can see on screen right now.
As you could guess this cat is a knock out tame, requiring a decent amount of tranqs to get him to go down. The managarmr is a very fussy eater wanting Exceptional Augmented Kibble.. A new kibble recipe that came to ark with extinction. The extraordinary Augmented kibble wow thats a mouthful.. Is made with the eggs of extra large creatures such as the bronto, giga, quetzal, rex, theri and yuti. Or if you dont have any of that laying around get some mutton or raw prime as its high class taste can be downgraded ever so slightly if it must.
The managarmr saddle can be crafted at level 66, again not a low level tame us disappointing as that is. This saddle costs 150 chitin/keratin, 185 fiber and 350 hide. NICE AND CHEAP
Next up we have the damage stats of the managarmr
These are the stats of a 150 PERFECT TAME coming out to 225.
Stat wise this came out to 5k health, stamina 1k, oxygen 500, food, 12k.. Wow useful..weight 450, 314 melee, movement speed 158, torpor 11k
Lets see if there is a paw-sibility that it will regain hope with is attack stats
The left click bite/swipe coming in at 109 damage
The frost breath coming in at 40 damage per half second
You can also vertical jump, jumping very high very fast from invisibile stepping stones, from the air you can frost breath, strafe or do a fast dash forwards
Stamina wise this frost breath hurts… But Un-fur-tunately.. It gets worse for the Managarmr, it loses 100 stamina on its first jump then another one hundred is added for every jump, for example your first jump is 100 stam, second costs 200, third costs 300 and so on, this does reset when your managarmr touches the ground, making it very speedy but.. Not for long periods of time.. Strafing costs 120 and the lunge forward costs 45 stamina
It may not all be bad though because the managarmr does have some real possible strengths as a defense dino for example:
Being able to freeze dinos that are tanking your turrets, more convenient than the snow owl because this kitty can freeze people from a distance air or ground, also not healing the frozen enemy, keeping them trapped in a turret till they die or till help comes.
This great big snake like cat is not useful in close quarters, have very little health and not doing that much damage, being much more suitable as a harasser from long distances.
One other talent this kitty has is being so fast its able to catch up and ambush you really quickly, being able to sneak up on unsuspecting enemies faster than any other creature. With its alright health this is very good for taking down smaller mounts.. Just not velonasaurs.. Stay away from them okay? Those walking turrets are dang-er-ous.
But talking about turrets? This feline will leave your enemies HISS-sterical, its dash attack being so fast it can avoid turret fire, unfortunately you cannot hold a rocket launcher or flamethrower while mounted on one of these.. Now a common thought that even I had was that you could possibly strap c4 to it and have your very own bomber. The taming process isnt that difficult so this would have made this a very efficient option, we ALL remember when wyverns could do this.. Now that was a nightmare. But unfortunately the devs have made it so c4 merely passes through the Managarmr
The fact it can avoid turrets though can still be useful, if you stack weight on your managarmr you could in some circumstances make it through the first layers of turrets on some base defenses to set up a base or your tek teleporter… I am positive some of you more PvP minded people will find some really sneaky ways to deal with this
Lets talk about some PAW-some builds for the managarmr
If you want to go with the above strategy then its all weight, health and stamina.
In general if you want to get around you should really pump a lot of stamina into it, it doesnt come with great amounts of stam and falling out of the air can get annoying even though you dont take fall damage. Another fun one to play around with is movement speed, making it a highly mobile mount very fast to get around the map.

I feel like it needs a glide similar to the rockdrake but without the need to aim generally downward to maintain momentum and instead of the forward boost only lasting a few seconds it should go until you release the button or it runs out of stamina. Without these two improvements, I honestly prefer the rock drake as my all terrain mount.
It can do a glide if you jump up in the air a do a breath attack
The dash makes it so you can go through large dinos and deals loads of dmg. The bigger the dino the more damaged ticks you have. Best hit and run dino for large dinos. Freeze a giga then dash through it with a few of these guys then wait for the cool down and repeat.
Just tranq while it is stuck floating, cant attack back, continues to float while knocked out, fly into its right hind leg and dismount, put food in its inventory,
When taming is at 97% one needs to be ready with a saddle otherwise they are stuck floating except they slowly float up. One can bait a snow owl up to the mana to hit it - doing so will push it in direction the hit was delivered so it's best to fly above then down towards it so it is hit towards the ground.
The snow owl loses argo on the mana quite quickly, the mana will continue to float down until it reaches a surface it may land on.
^^thats for if your booted off the mana before placing a saddle on it due to the tame animation.
Hey Thick-Man, can you do an updated version of this? Its had so many nerfs so it would be good to see what it is like after the nerfs

mana also rlly good for taming small things like snow owls. Freeze it but from a range so it does 0 damage, then get a friend to spam tranqs.

Stop doing stat claims at level 150, not all dinos have the same stats , do them at level 1 so no natural levels have been implemented giving a better idea

If you use the forward lunge while looking straight up, it actually goes higher than when it uses it’s jump. Only use jump to gain air then just use the forward key while looking up to gain altitude, and spam forward and airil lunge to just keep on going foreward
Managarmr is actually a reference to Norse Mythology, meaning "Moon-Hound", and is the angelical name of Hati Hróðvitnisson - the wolf giant that chases moon while his brother Sköll chases the sun. He and Sköll are said to be the ones that will swallow the sun and moon, marking the start of Ragnarök.

The wolf that consumes the moon sounds like a medaphore for how the moon wanes from full to new moon. Managarmr would kinda make sense as the consumer of power maybe? Full moon is seen as power so like if the dark of the moon eats it maybe that makes sense idk
hey uh. those damage numbers arent accurate. you need to use a level 1 to get the base damage otherwise theres a chance of like a 50 level difference in the stat. could be the difference in hundreds of points of damage depending on the dino.

of you just freeze it with an owl and place two gates, on the neck and behing its wings...if you're unsure, then put there another one...you'll have to be fast since they are annoying as they are attacking mammoths ALL THE TIME. if you're on unofficial server or singleplayer, it will be easier since you don't need to press the hotbar with gates twice but only once, aaand you'll actually be ABLE to place ANYTHING required to tame this thing...
I managed to catch a lvl 150 with just two stone gates and no bear trap, but beware if you don't get the spacing perfect he can get stuck in this semi flying/booster mode and if you walk near it it insta-kills you and any shoulder mounts you got, happened to me twice but stick caught the muda fuga

Quick thing, the breath attack has a "slightly" bs amount of range being able to hit anything as long as it's in render distance

Boi I tamed a level 116 with primitive chitin armor and a ramshackle longneck rifle without any traps and it was a breeze.
Big tip, dont run out of stamina with this thing in the water. It will die. Cryo pod if it happens

The Managarmr is infact a mammal! Dinosaurs are reptiles. The Managarmr gives birth to live offspring, as there isn't a Managarmr egg in the game.
