- I've already fought DCC so I might as well fight the rival format. This is a Sony MDS-E10 pro audio MD machine with a disc stuck in it, a record button that does nothing, and a thoroughly broken input select switch. Let's see what we can do for it.
At the time MD would have made a major impact on my life, I couldn't afford to buy either the machine or the blank discs, but I'd still like to try it out as a potential archiving medium for my old 80s mixtape cassettes. I'd like to have a form of physical media that won't degrade or break like cassettes do, and it's real clear that DCC isn't ever going to fit the bill. MD just might... if I like this format.

Good job as usual!🎉
Great repair👍
Sometimes, turning the machine upside down let’s one eject the disc. At least it does on domestic machines.
Disconnect the ribbon cables makes the job easier and you don’t risk damaging them!
It's only easier when the ribbon cables aren't damaged during removal or insertion. I didn't feel like risking it that day.
Why didn't you put the mechanism door flap back on?
The spring is stretched out and no longer usable.
Essentially a MO disc?
