Dance Gavin Dance - Synergy (live at Swanfest 2022)

  • DGD playing Synergy live at Swanfest 2022 at Heart Health Park, Sacramento. Lead single off of the new album, Jackpot Juicer. First time the song was performed live.
    For those who are unaware, DGD lost a beloved member (brother, friend), bassist, Tim Feerick, just prior to this event. Tim's family gave their blessing for the festival to continue and the band performed as a way to honor and celebrate Tim's memory with his family, friends, and fans. I posted these videos for those who wanted to be there to celebrate Tim and support the band, but couldn't. This show was very emotional and difficult for the band, but they did their best, through their grief, to honor Tim.

    I think the reason Jon killed it is because he could convert his emotion into his raw voice and it definitely was easier for him to scream then Tilian to sing

    • @majincandybeam
      @majincandybeam 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I beg to differ. It’s just as hard for him. Screaming is still a skill, not just raw voice. Same rules apply. Not trying to be an asshole I just don’t want the takeaway to make it seem like he struggled any less. He’s just really good at what he does.

    Their set was so emotional. Everyone in the crowd felt it. I cried the ENTIRE set. You could very easily see the pain that Tilian was feeling. They cut the show short, they just walked off stage 😞 no announcements or nothing, just quiet. Nobody in the crowd was upset; we all understood. It was honestly kind of beautiful…. But so, so, so sad

    I'm kind of surprised they didn't have Andrew take the verse Rob Damiani featured on. Seems more in his comfortable range than Tilian's. It would have also taken a little pressure off Tilian too, and you could tell he was really struggling. My heart aches for these guys, RIP Tim💔

    • @mawithaxdd
      @mawithaxdd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The first time I heard this song, I totally thought they’d use Andrew for Rob’s part because Andrew sings in that octave. I was also surprised they didn’t do that. But I agree that it’d take some pressure off of Tillian during this time. I saw them live in October and I can tell a difference within their energy without Tim. 💔

We just saw them for the 7th time in Raleigh, and I swear they were tighter than I've ever seen them, didn't hear Tilian nor Jon miss one part. Everyone else spot on too. Doing this was cathartic to say the least I'm sure for all involved.
