Whenever I holiday in a foreign city, I always catch a tourist tour bus, as early as possible in my stay, to get my bearings and a quick appreciation of the city layout and attractions that may be worth a visit.

I live very near Chester, we have lots of Viking history, but Chester is the no.1 place to see Britain's Roman history.
It is very old and very pretty just like York 👍

It's so humbling to watch you coping so well with our "challenging"(?) British weather. I thought that you might enjoy York, if only because it has
so many different things going for it that there has to be something that would appeal. Good luck for your future adventures and I wish you better
weather in which to enjoy them....................................the ancient Englishman.

Thank you very much! It was still beautiful nonetheless, only if it weren’t so windy 🌬

Pleased that you loved York, it's my own favourite English city. Sorry about the not so great weather (It's at its most beautiful in Summer) I think you might enjoy Durham as well. It's very close to you and though it's smaller and a lot hillier than York it has a much to offer in terms of historic buildings and beauty.

First let me welcome you to your home from home in Newcastle. I hope that you are having a good time and enjoying all that my city has to offer, especially the night life!
I look forward to seeing you exploring the city and the surrounding areas including but not limited to the Metro Centre, our wonderful beaches at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth, the various castles such as Bamburgh and Chillingham, the Roman sites of Vindalanda and what we locals call the Cathedral on the Hill aka St. James Park, home of Newcastle United football club!
Anyway, enjoy yourself and if you need ideas, you can always just ask 😊

    "Very Windy"!!!
It's no wonder that England has the biggest Offshore Wind Farms in the world. England holds the top 3 spots for Wind Farms.
I know I might be biased but England is the best country in the world. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@@isawnek I can see the fascination and wonder in your eyes and you truly do seem infatuated by our history and culture. I know you've been to York and obviously Newcastle but if you get the chance you need to visit London, Bath, Stonehenge etc for more English cultural overload. Would love to see videos of you visiting these iconic English places.
