I get vivid enough dreams like Garnt, where sometimes I end up questioning, if it happened. Like in my dream I might have gone to bed and wake up irl, and then I end up going to put on these awesome shoes that I bought in my dream, only to find out, oooh, that wasn't real, it was a dream. Stuff like that.

I literally had a dream like this about getting a special beyblade because I used to love them as a kid. When I woke up I was just sad and disappointed for the entire day because one, I didn't have the beyblade, and two, just the dream felt so real.

Being half awake while dreaming is the worst and is extremely trippy, being able to hear voices around you and them changing your dream in real time

    • @warpatato
      @warpatato 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It is so trippy dude. How is our brain processing these external stimulus and then repurposing them in a randomly generated dream story with like no latency/delay. The freaky part was when you wake up and there is a seamless transition between hearing the sound being repurposed in your dream to hearing it in real life.

For some reason, I am usually dreaming of the same locations. One is a giant hotel with an amusement park and a huge canteen, the other is in my middle school which has a basement system that basically leads to every possible house, and lastly a park/town during an invasion/zombie apocalypse. I rarely get to see dreams in any other location, they are all connected to these three.

after i started writing down my dreams in high school theyve gotten crazier and crazier. ALL of my dreams are basically movie plots. id love to tell the bois about going on a southern cruise in atlantis, getting kidnapped by a cloning facility after an gymnastics competition, and riding on noahs ark thats been turned into a luxury cruise liner and having to stop the boat crashing and killing everyone

So my biggest problem is that the older I got the better did my brain becomes into fooling me about what's real and what's not when it comes to dreams, plus I'm extremely imaginative which doesn't make it better... now I can't feel, see, taste or even remember the difference between reality and dream.. if I do notice something off, my brain INSTANTLY changes it so that something like that doesn't happen again in my dreams and I don't become aware of it anymore ever again.. you can't imagine how it is when I have a nightmare, I always wake up traumatised

Considering I dream almost every night (mostly nightmares - or they start off normal but end as a nightmare) sometimes in 3rd person, sometimes in 1st. Sometimes people and/or places that exists, sometimes they don't. sometimes I have a lot of control, most of the time I don't. Sometimes when I wake I remember almost every detail, other times, only bits and pieces. I wish there was a way to record them and watch them back. Some of my best ideas have come from dreams, but they slip away really quickly.

I had a dream a few months ago where I woke up, got up, dressed, and standing in my room, then i woke up. this repeated with minor variations at least 20 times before i actually woke up for real. It took me a while to realize i was actually awake that time because it had gotten to the point that i was just expecting i was still dreaming. I couldn't tell the difference at all between the dream and real life. The only hint i usually get that im dreaming when it isnt some weird impossible like the one i just said is text and digital time clocks dont look right. the letters or numbers are there but look undefined fuzzy and change constantly. everything else looks feels sounds tastes smells VERY REAL. If i see that i cant read text i know im dreaming and i can usually take over.

In relation to media altering our perception of dreams: before the invention of colour TV (but after the invention of monochrome TVs), there was an societal affect that was observed where people were far more likely view their dreams in black and white, due largely to the influence of video media typically lacking colour. So I don't find it too much of a stretch to say that videogames may have an influence on dreams to be presented to you in the third person if you play a lot of games using that video perspective/consume a lot of media in general.

I never dream in third person. I dream in 1st person but it's really weird because I'm not always myself or aware that I'm myself. Sometimes it's even like "half" myself and "half" some character in my dream at the same time. Sometimes when I'm not actively involved in what's going on (almost like watching a movie) it almost feels like part of my consciousness is seeing things from the perspective of the "characters" and part of it is watching as some omniscient deity. Like how they mention feeling more tired after an intense dream is because not that their brain moves slow but I just think Connors just moves fast all the time and his body isnt affected in his sleep because of it. It's not always a good thing. Because in my experience it feels like you have a computer with a million tabs of p*** open. So technically you're doing a million things but it's slowing you down. Sometimes when I’m really tired and someone tries to wake me up to do something I fall back asleep and dream I did it but then I wake up and I didn’t actually do it

I'd say over 70%of my dreams are in 3rd person. Also, yeah my dreams are super vivid and indiscernable from reality 90% of the time.

Sometimes I see myself from 3rd person. Sometimes I see from the 1st person perspective of the game character I'm playing as. Yes I often dream about playing games.

my dreams end up creating new mystical places. like one where it was a a marble city on a high cliff below crashing waves. with Flowers that acted as a rail guard for people who fall off, through the flowers magically allowing anything that falls off to float back up to the edge.
or a ruined rural Town at the dead of night infiltrated by Mutated insect humanoid monsters.
or my last one. a beautiful city of buildings made of bricks and Greek like architectures. with grass which covered the roads, and moss and vines that creeped up the buildings.

I constantly have a dream of some unknown people dying before me, and for some reason their dead faces get etched into my brain even after im woken up, its pretty disturbing tbh

Sometimes I dream in third person but I'm a completely different person but my consciousness tells me that's "me" and it's so weird when I wake up because I look myself in the mirror and realize you probably just lived another person's life or something like a free trial kind of thing lmao

I see nothing, it's like someone is telling the story and I believe that.

8:30 The next day after i bet you smashed that game. Because ur brain all night long was literally running simulations on the game. This is what happens to people that play video games or anything really when i started this hardwood flooring job i had after high school i vividly remember my 2 day after working i went to sleep and was laying hardwood floor in my dreams XD sleep is crazy. Especially not staying on a sleep schedule. Its terrifyingly bad for you look it up.

My dreams I usually in places I am familiar with like a school, my house, my back yard, my work place etc...however there are times where my dream is say in a school but not a school I actually attended in real life or sometimes I can have dreams where I could be outside but I doesn't seem to be a place I have been...since my dreams can be influenced by recent memories or images I had seen Ex maybe a movie I seen especially if it was scary/horror movie I would have elements from that movie in the my dreams. Also I have too dreamed in third person.

fun fact, some people can render their surroudings and live imagining themselves in 3rd person and their memories can be "saved" in 3rd person.
