Honestly speaking would love to see you guys rate Japanese horror films and compare them to Hollywood horror, might be some interesting takes there
Child's Play, Evil Dead, Nightmare on Elm, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Exocist, and Scream are one of the kings of American horror.
Dude Evil Dead is the king of horror for me. Like the deadites are arguably the best horror villains ever created in the idea that they have more fun fucking with you than just straight up killing you. Fuck I don't know what Sam Raimi was thinking but he had perfect timing in all of it.

Mike Flanagan has ruined horror for me... in a good way. He's so good at producing these epic story and character driven horror projects that everything else seems cheap and overly gory now. Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, even Hush have become my favorites and go to when I want horror. His spooky, creepy, emotional, and poignant horror is what horror used to be and should be again.

Some ghost videos posted on TH-cam are 10x better than the horror films try to do.
So true, dude like any analog horror here on yt slays any horror movie. Like my personal fav, is still the Walten files. 100000x scarier than any horror movie ever. I've never gotten full body chills and teared up, or had to stop, a horror movie.
I wish they'd view non-mainstream horror, Japanese and otherwise. There are plenty of hidden gems out there that don't constantly rely on jumpscares; some of them are in the form of short films here on TH-cam. Since Garnt is into cosmic horror like Made in Abyss, maybe he'd like Annihilation and Roadside Picnic.
Thank you to the one who gave me the time when Garnt talked a bit about Annihilation. Though, I wish he talked more about it.

I totally understand Garnt falling asleep to those kind of videos. For me it’s a channel called SEAh here on YT.
I am interested in the topic and video, but the narrators voice and the images being used are so calming.
Same with NileRed. I do have interest in his videos and the chemistry, but his voice is soothing and calm, and -let’s face it- there’s not so much going on in the videos. Usually vials being stirred and such.
Interesting stuff, but it’s presented TOO good to not fall asleep to.
I do the exact same with SciShow, Astrum and sometimes NileRed, the BBC and a few others 😂😂😂 They're just so calming

sometimes I play some ThisOldTony to fall asleep to. Bit odd to listen to someone in his garage machining metal to fall asleep to but it's kinda relaxing
to be fair. to "shit" on a horror movie that was seen in a plane, especially paranomral, is a quite a joke. paranormal 1 is exactly that kind of movie that is missing nowdays with all this jumpscare filled nonsense.

Unpopular opinion, the third one with them as little girls was the best one. I actually loved that one. The rest were extremely bad or just boring. I can't believe that the prequel one was actually where this series peaked.
I like the one where the main character had ghost powers and they shot up a house full of witches

I don't like horror nowadays where it's just loud noises and jumpscares, the best they can do is make my fists raise. Psychological and comedy horror films on the other hand is great. Jacob's Ladder, The Poughkeepsie Tapes, The wailing, Get Out, and so much more.

As someone who started watching horror films since i was at least 6-7 I never found them scary, even more now as an adult jump scares never get me. Even my friends try to scare me but it doesn’t happen. I have The same thing of knowing that it’s a film, my brain immediately tells me it’s a set, they’re actors so it just never works to scare me. I will say I have definitely preferred Japanese, Korean, and Thai horror. Feels like they have more substance than American horror. Just my preference. And I have nearly watched every horror movie out there. I started by going through every year
You have only seen the Asian horror that was good enough to warrant spending money on a translation
I only watch it in its native language, I hate watching anything that’s been translated.
you need to watch good american horror. if your take is oh jump scares are bad, then you’re only watching terrible movies that rely on jump scares instead of tension.

Watch analog horrors here on yt, far better than any movie I've seen. Walten files is my fav one. There's a 30 minute and and 1 hour and a half one. They're the only ones you need to watch, amazing series. Made me tear up and have full chills, I am also like you, never scared of horror. But trust bro, walten files is too good
