Whats Inside A Heating Element?

This is part of the washing machine aftermath. After The machine died I took it apart and we will have a look at some of the components in an amateurish but detailed way.
Findings:
* How does it stay watertight?
* Measuring the resistance
* looking at the temperature sensor
