Thanks for making the video! Great info. Where did you get that yellow "pointer" attachment on your trolling motor? I have been looking for it but can't find it and have no idea what is called. Thanks in advance
What weight jighead and size bait do you recommend for the weekend guy to practice on Gville? Whats the difference between the ballheads and minnow shaped heads action wise? Thanks and Good luck!
I would recommend a 1/4oz and a 5” bait. The minnow style like the dirty jigs guppy head is more realistic and ultimately does what a ball head does. The new jig head that I’m working on designing with Duckett will help impart rolling action into the bait.
Been used since I've been fishing since 1995 minus the FFS. I got one better call Hoot Worm. I'm going to give it up in Honor of WILLIAM "Hoot" Gibson check his Redman and Toyota series finishes. Hoot was a no boater and taught lots of Pros his technique and one Cody Bird got schooled by Hoot but Cody became a Table Rock phenomenon with this simple technique. You need a Spinning rod 7 foot medium moderate bend if using mono 8 pound test. Hoot sadly passed away before these new rods and braid to fluorocarbon, if using this setup definitely use a moderate bending rod, use a good Spinning reel with a good drag. NOW! the important part is the jig head... Hard to find I have them made but in Little Rock Arkansas Zimmermanns sales them to this day. 1/8 oz with a number 2 hook ( that's right #2 hook not 2/0) I have tried a #1 but no advantage. Also if you get hung up you just pop the line and usually comes right off. No for the bait and i own 100,000 of them well almost. ZOOM GREEN PUMPKIN Finesse worm thread the hook where the point comes out right between the two O's in the word ZOOM. Now how to fish it, anything you can parallel while trolling motor is pulling you forward and if your in deep enough water you let it fall if you cast far enough ahead and when you lift your boat should almost be to where you cast lift up and bass is on. Off Shore structure open water FFS TARGETED fish. This technique is simple and inexpensive compared to the jig head minnows. I have caught and won the biggest bass in the Arkansas Governors Cup and the check was $1,000 donated by Pradco and me and Hoot finished 2nd in that tournament. Yes I caught Big Bass with his own technique. Scott Rook will vouch for this technique. So you young guys think you found something new it's just us old fisherman's underwear we been there done that, you just have FFS
Good stuff, already got those, I don’t use FFS , just DI, and SI, 2D I’m old school finesse, I like grubs, craws, and creature baits, but use Duckett rods, got them from JW. My favorite is small flukes. I paint them, mostly perch colors. Try them they work great in big bolder rocks and bluffs, that’s my juice, don’t tell anyone! lol keep the faith! 👍🥸🙏
Great timing! I'm headed up to Applegate tomorrow to give this technique a try.
Awesome! Good luck should be dynamite up there
Thanks for sharing! What is your jighead box. Look very easy to organize.
It’s a fly fishing box you can get from Sportsman’s warehouse made by lost creek

What kind of areas are you looking for and conditions do you find this technique more effective than traditional fishing?
I really like to look for offshore structure or follow contour lines and look for groups of fish
Is it necessary to run a leader on braid?
As a beginner I don’t understand what the leader does.
It isn’t 100% necessary but it makes the presentation much more realistic. If you don’t use a leader the fish can be less inclined to bite.
Jacob, how long of a leader do you normally use?
I typically use 15-20ft but it’s all up to personal preference, and I tie a Alberto Knot.
