I love your videos. If I am having trouble understanding a concept after reading the text, I check to see if you have a video on it. Keep 'em coming. Love it! Thank you for providing this service!
Shaping seems to be more like a technique, an ABA teaching tool, that uses differential reinforcement. Differential reinforcement is a consequence of a given behavior -- whether it's reinforced and how. DRA, DRO, DRI, etc... It's a type of behavior-consequence that can "shape" behavior but not the same thing as Shaping as a procedure.
Leo and Lee I think differential reinforcement is the actual reinforcing or rewarding part of shaping. So everytime a new step is added the prior step is no longer reinforced but the current skill is.
No because shaping is reinforcing approximation of the target behaviour and not another response how ever in differential reinforcement is reinforcing approximation of the target behaviour and OTHER POTENTIAL CORRECT RESPONSES

This explanation of differential reinforcement sounds alot like shaping.
Because it is

Thank you for your explanation. I get it now! Differential reinforcement.
Thank you so much, these videos are amazing at helping me understand what i'm learning in my DSW course. Awesome!
Thank you this was very helpful to understand my class lectures, which indeed are very "jargon-y"
is there a difference between differential reinforcement and shaping ?or same?
