What to Feed Pregnant Ewes. 1 - 15 weeks of early gestation requires a change in feed plan.

What to feed pregnant sheep. Once the rams are removed from the group of ewes, we continue to feed corn for an additional two weeks.
Start of week three, we alter the feed plan. This involves revisiting the hay analysis and select hay that has lower protein levels. We will keep the higher quality hay for late gestation and lambing cycles. We also stop feeding corn at this time.
For the next fifteen weeks, we focus on keeping an eye on the flocks body condition. Our goal is to incur a slight increase in weight.
We want to avoid the sheep becoming too thin or over-weight. Both issues will lead into health issues.
