- What do sheep eat while in confinement? We show what sheep eat in a day at our farm. What sheep eat in a day can vary greatly from one farm to another depending on climate, living conditions, and breed. Today we show what we feed our sheep on a daily basis while in confinement to show others what steps we take to keep our sheep and their lambs healthy! Princess Madison heard what I was watching and came to check it out.
I asked her if she liked the sheep and she said, "Yes."
Then I asked if we should get some and she said, "Yes!!!" I was so surprised!!!!
Aww! That warms my heart! Glad she enjoyed hearing/seeing them on TV 🙂 they are pretty reliable lawn mowers once you get a rotation setup for their grazing

I know this video is about feeding the sheep but, how often do you feed the puppies and how much? The help have to eat too.
They are free fed, we have a 50 lbs chow hound feeder that allows them to eat as much as they want when they want. It works well and they don't overeat thankfully.

What are the advantages of feeding the grain outside the barn and just thinking 🤔 about rain and snow.
It's mainly a space issue for us is why we feed outside. That will eventually be the feedlot for three barns that is shared. It will also be concrete so they can be outside on nice days during winter too.

We do our best to respond to every comment and we have learned the best way to achieve that is respond when we first get notified of it so we don't forget. You can do it too, I assure you once you get a solid plan in place it will come alive quicker than you can ever imagine!
I’m interested in What kind of feed are you feeding them? What crude protein % and what type of mix it’s hard to find a good sheep feed around my part of the country without paying an arm and a leg
It can be hard to find, our local feed mill makes ours for us and has a nutritionist that built the ration we use. Send me a message on Facebook on our farm page and I will send you the ration sheet.
What do you think the cost will run you to feed them inside from December to March?
