*MAGICAL* Snowshoe Hike

- We packed up some of the crew, a few dogs, and took a hike up Blue Mountain to visit a winter wonderland on the summit, and see the fire tower! Frosty beards and eyelashes were an extra bonus ;)

Yea, gloves just don't cut it for me on super cold hikes, but a pair of good mittens with some Hot Hands in them work incredibly well!

@@JayMorrisonOutdoors believe it or not, hasn’t been too good here either (outside Buffalo)…. It comes n melts pretty fast, before I have a chance to get out there. My cabin in Allegany Co. hadn’t had much at all either.

Hey Jay--don't know if you'll see this, but I watched your Long Trail Part I with Korra along, and I noticed she went home. I'll be doing the LT this summer and my dogs will be coming (experienced day hikers, limited overnights), so any beta you'd be willing to share would be great. My guys have been training daily for a while and are up to 4.5 lbs carry each--they weigh abt 75 and 90 lbs, and I want to keep their loads light. Dog advice seems rare, so I'm hoping you might part with some, and megathanks. Cheers!
Korra was getting dehydrated during the first leg of the hike, and she was refusing to drink any water, which is what made me decide to send her home. Otherwise, she could have done the whole trail - no problem. The only area I was concerned about having a dog on the trail was the ladders on Mansfield.

LOL not yet, but we've definitely heard strange things coming from the deep woods during the darkest part of the night on a couple of backpacking trips, so you never know ...
