County fairs are really fun. No lawn tractor pulls or demo derby? The animals are cool. I always ask the questions about their pets. One fair it was hot and smelly near the animals. All the flies were on this piece of rope. Mom said they were "trained tight rope walking flies" I knew better. Thanks for taking me to the fair!

The best display was the diorama of the Bronco getting ready to tow the broken down Chevy short bed. Don't get any more realistic than that. A lot of the county fairs here in Michigan have amateur truck and tractor pulls. Thanks for posting.

i grew up working the Fryeburg Fair when it came to town.. many years of making cotton candy or fried dough and even french fries! all the concession owners I worked for were awesome.. Also, Shut out to the parking at the house on the corner of Leach road - Wh0oop Whoop Karl!!! keep making that yearly donation to Jens Friends cancer foundation with proceeds from your sacrifice of your lawn. We have the state fair where I live. Love the family style competitions they also have, like the pig calling, the rubber chicken throwing, the mullet contest, braid contest, kid calling, and cow chip throwing. I’ve entered the arts and photography competition before. Lots of fun. And great people watching!

As a former industrial mechanic, now forklift mechanic . When ever I go anywhere with rides, I’m always watching the mechanicals of the rides. Even once had to advise a ride mechanic on removing a seized coast bearing we were about to ride. At least until the coast wheel locked up.
Love going to the fair and all the great fair food. I met Tosh's granny at the local casin store yesterday. What a sweet little lady. Definitely loves her grands and great grands ❤️

I loved my county fair growing up. It's a great tradition. I still remember when my grandfather won a blue ribbon for biggest pumpkin, though in a different county from where I lived.
Squeeze almost caught Wilbur!! 😅😅🐷🐷🐷That was a BIG cow on that trailer!! 😳 😅 🐄 Can you imagine towing that down the highway....LOL. We have a big fair here every October....funnel cakes, pie, CHILI, and last but not least, DEEP FRIED OREOS, YES, Deep fried Oreos. They are to die for! Fairs are fun. And they're very fair! You guys need to come to MN next year. Not only do we have county fairs, but we have the MN State Fair. The best and biggest fair in the country. But make sure you bring money. I'd figure a family of 5 would be able to drop $500 just on food. But it's worth every penny. There's nothing better anywhere in the nation. We also have the MN Renaissance Festival, this weekend being the last, but it's also the best there is from food to jousting to anything Renaissance you could possibly think of. Bring the crew and $1000 to do both next year and I guarantee, you'll have the best time of your lives.
Washington Parish Free Fair 3rd week of october in South LA for me. The crafts, older musicians playing music with the younger generations are priceless. If you have something like that in your home towns, take advantage of it. I have been going since the early 1970's and wouldn't trade the experiences for anything.

Love the country fairs.. LA country fair/ pomona fairplex in California Is one awesome place you all would DEFINITELY love ❤️ this place for sure... It's been around 100 years it would be an awesome vacation to visit this Fair... opening in may 2024
I live on a quite small island - 26 square miles packed with 60,000 people. Over a century ago they established our version of the county fair, which we call the Agricultural Exhibition, or Ag Show for short. Back when it was established it was intended to encourage more farming activity, but after WWII tourism and international business took off (ever wondered where Google stashes it's money lol?) and land very quickly became too precious a resource to merely farm on. This especially since we could afford to import just about everything with our new-found prosperity. Anyway, the point is that our fair is exactly like this one except for the rides. But we do still have some agricultural land set aside for cultivation and fresh local dairy produce thanks to the Portuguese population. And a surprising number of peegs are exhibited every year, although no piglet catching competitions have been held as far as I know lol. Great to see you all had a bit of time off to enjoy a family outing, looks like you all had a lot of fun!
We have the Lincoln county Montana fair every year complete with 4-H livestock show mud bogs .My wife won Grand champion with her hollyhocks. Our town Eureka Montana only has about 4k people. The fair as well as our Annual Rendezvous brings people out of the mountains from even smaller towns.

If you like fairs you should plan a vacation bring your camper and come up here to the Iowa State Fair it's the best fair in the whole United States they have so much here you can't see it all in one day.

I used to work the parking lots at the New York State Fair. Last 2 weeks in August before Labor Day & school starting. Most don't think of NY as farm country, but everything outside of NYC metro is.
The largest pumpkin in the US was from our area last year. The guy who won last year, also had the biggest pumpkin at our heritage festival again this year. Not sure if it is biggest in the US this year or not. We will see in a couple weeks. 🙂
We just had our town fair a couple of weeks ago; but here in Oz we call 'em Agricultural Shows; same deal; lot of produce, old farm machinery, all kindsa stuff; it's a great day out!
The San Diego county fair is really big and fun. On my last visit I ate a krispy cream chick fil a sandwich. Went to a free concert and rode in the back of a real monster truck.
A fun fair event around here is "Cow Patty Bingo". My favorite fair event growing up was watching the Oxen Pulling contest. Mt favorite fair ride as a kid was The Scrambler... which I think has been outlawed...
@@sleeperdude2690 Sometimes it was a single ox, but usually it was a team of 2 oxen. Some contests might have had 2 or 3 teams harnessed together, but in our town I never saw more than 2 oxen pulling at a time. They are very powerful, impressive and huge. The teams take turns pulling a big sledge loaded with large concrete blocks. More concrete blocks are added each round until they have a winner.
Awesome experience. My kids used to enjoy the fair and my ex and my kids won a bunch of ribbons at our local fair. Always a lot of fun. Great video of your experience. If those kids hadn't jumped the gun for the pig, I think Squeeze would have had a better chance even. It was great watching Tosh jump the ditch...LOL. Have a blessed end of the week.

growing up my dad was the manager of the fair grounds where we lived. so i always got the hook up with unlimited ride passes and free food and stuff like that i was the kid to know come fair time.

Our local fair used to have some really good demolition derbies and truck/tractor pulls with the horse pulling as well as a lot of the same stuff that your fair had. Seems like whenever it is fair time that there’s always torrential downpours -,It Never Fails!!!

Here in Kentucky there are lots of fall festivals going on which is also pretty neat. I wish that I could go to Bowling Green, But that’s several miles from me where I am located west of Lexington. Seems like PowerNation used to test a good number of their vehicles at Bowling Green. Maybe one of these days, But not this weekend., I have garden tractors to work on.

Dear Sleeperdude family. 👍👌👏 It was fun and interesting to watch although WaWa, Ralphie and Squeeze have been treated unfair by half of the kids by starting too early. The referee should definitely have stopped and restarted this catch a pig race. I'm a bit sad because I bet that one of your great kids would have caught the pig. Especially because all 3 of them have experience with vehicle grease, slime and a RC Cola loving pig. 😁 ;-) I'm glad to see that all of you nevertheless enjoyed the fair. When I was a little kid my neighbor used to take in big huge pumpkins that would take up the whole back of a pickup I had one for Halloween one year you just seen the kids try to yank it off the porch to bust it in the street after Halloween lol what a mess! Here in Louisiana every medium size town has a festival -shrimp,sugar cane,pecan,crawfish,frog,cattle, the list goes on and own. There is somewhere to go every weekend. Would have loved to see mom drive home holding a pig.

Some contests might have had 2 or 3 teams harnessed together, but in our town I never saw more than 2 oxen pulling at a time. They are very powerful, impressive and huge. The teams take turns pulling a big sledge loaded with large concrete blocks. More concrete blocks are added each round until they have a winner.

Awesome experience. My kids used to enjoy the fair and my ex and my kids won a bunch of ribbons at our local fair. Always a lot of fun. Great video of your experience. If those kids hadn't jumped the gun for the pig, I think Squeeze would have had a better chance even. It was great watching Tosh jump the ditch...LOL. Have a blessed end of the week.

growing up my dad was the manager of the fair grounds where we lived. so i always got the hook up with unlimited ride passes and free food and stuff like that i was the kid to know come fair time.

This was an awesome video!!! Talk about bringing back memories. Obviously I was around 8 or 9 years old when I did the "catch the pig" competition and I caught the pig,hahahaha. Thanks so,so much for sharing this with. I was very proud of Tosh and her success with jumping over the little trench, hahahaha. I knew she was serious when she pitched her shoes to the other side, lol. Love you all dearly. See you soon.

Our local fair used to have some really good demolition derbies and truck/tractor pulls with the horse pulling as well as a lot of the same stuff that your fair had. Seems like whenever it is fair time that there’s always torrential downpours -,It Never Fails!!!

@@sleeperdude2690Yeah, I forgot about the “Mud Runs” that they used to have. I guess that with the heavy rain that there was going to be plenty of mud. Here in Kentucky there are lots of fall festivals going on which is also pretty neat. I wish that I could go to Bowling Green, But that’s several miles from me where I am located west of Lexington. Seems like PowerNation used to test a good number of their vehicles at Bowling Green. Maybe one of these days, But not this weekend., I have garden tractors to work on.

👍👌👏 It was fun and interesting to watch although WaWa, Ralphie and Squeeze have been treated unfair by half of the kids by starting too early. The referee should definitely have stopped and restarted this catch a pig race. I'm a bit sad because I bet that one of your great kids would have caught the pig. Especially because all 3 of them have experience with vehicle grease, slime and a RC Cola loving pig. 😁 ;-) I'm glad to see that all of you nevertheless enjoyed the fair. Unfortunately something like that does not exist in Germany. At least not that I know.

When I was a little kid my neighbor used to take in big huge pumpkins that would take up the whole back of a pickup I had one for Halloween one year you just seen the kids try to yank it off the porch to bust it in the street after Halloween lol what a mess! You guys got a lot of land you should get in that next year!!!

Here in Louisiana every medium size town has a festival -shrimp,sugar cane,pecan,crawfish,frog,cattle, the list goes on and own. There is somewhere to go every weekend. Would have loved to see mom drive home holding a pig.
