Surviving a cruise with my in-laws and a 1750 mile road trip.

- This year my mother in law decided that for Christmas instead of giving presents to her grandchildren she would send them all on a cruise instead. So we are off on a road trip again. This time it is a 1750 mile trip to Miami Florida to get on Royal Caribbeans' Oasis of the Seas. Our kids have never been on a cruise ship or been out of the country at all so this was a very big deal to them. Squeeze even cried when they gave her the ticket.
The cruise is going to Labadee Haiti which is Royal Caribbeans' private peninsula on the country of Haiti. Can a man survive a trip such as this with his in-laws? That is the question we are here to answer today.
We also are going to be stopping on the way back home in Tarpon Springs to pick up a newly rebuilt transmission for the 74 Minnie Winnie Winnebago so that we can have overdrive in it now for future road trips around the country.

Really hits Home with me, although the Lord has not called either of my Parents Home, they Both do have Dementia. Mom @ 83 years young is a bit further along in her journey than my Father whom @ 79 has been on Dialysis for some Years now which expedites the progression of Dementia, per the Doctor. We all know Their Race Will soon be Run, I’ve cried more this Holiday season than I ever thought possible & it was slightly Difficult to put on a Happy Face for My Grandchildren. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the family in this Time, I Pray the Lord Guides you and gives you the Strength to carry on in the Next Chapter. Good Luck Friend, Keep It Safe Out There Sir

Im a car guy but never had the family as an adult like u do but my memories in the back of a 69 rambler wagon goin down the rd with me and my sister in back, great memories!, so thx for showin ur family trips, love the comment of being a modern day Indiana jones, im same way, so really appreciate u do that, so happy youve been able to turn utube into something that progresses ur life for the better, although im sure its difficult in ways we dont see, especially on the kids, im happy for ur wonderful family,cim a 62yo man with numbered days due to health so its a great way to get lost in ur vids, cant beat,, country life/people ✌❤ wish u guys all the best!

Every year at Christmas I go from Nebraska to Tennessee to see my kids and some car that's usually cost me less than a week's pay and everybody always asks me why I take such risk and it's because I'm usually prepared I always have one of every fluid and an overnight bag. This year no fluids no clothes and a rod knocked the car 600 miles from home and I asked myself what would Josh do .... Traded it for the tow bill and plunk down a one-way rental to finish the trip

We did an 11 hour drive with a five and a two year old for our first cruise (with the in-laws and cousins) on the Explorer of the Seas. Brings back memories!!

One thing I find funny is that people take vacations to places where people live there all the time and see the sights and everything on a daily basis. My aunt (she's no longer with us, God rest her) lived in Denver and she would talk about all the tourists coming to see the Rocky Mountains and skiing and everything. And she would say "Everyone is amazed by them, they're beautiful mountains....but I see them every day!" 😊 I just find that one of those funny things about life. Here in Arkansas, where I live, the Ouachitas and Ozarks are literally in my back yard and we visit them all the time. For those who haven't been here, you really should vacation here, it's very pretty! We have a Walmart that is literally in the foothills and it's almost 90 degrees straight up. You park your car, and the mountain is RIGHT THERE. Awesome that ya'll had fun! Thanks for sharing and God bless! 🙂

wow, a lot has changed since i took a RC cruise. That stop in Haiti, they used to throw you on a ferry that you got on from the bottom of the hull to take you over there. Looks like they have really stepped it up. Brings back some good memories.

I was always the guy behind the camera just taking pictures and it could be a pain. Hope you all enjoyed yourselves but as my dad use to say, “vacation is for the kids”.
