Hi, Victor, this kind of leak in M120 is very similar to the leaks in M104, and sometimes it's not in the "U" gasket but in the head gasket. I used to loose the two first bolts in the heads and retighten them. Maybe it could be done in the M120 too. Great video!
wdb4me Hey, yes m104 Has same problem. I recently did m103 seal, similar to m104. that m103 is 1988 built and there were 3 colors of silicone in the area of seal. It was replaced 3 times before me during its life. I did look at head gasket on m120 and it seems fine. Leak is right around u shaped seal so I would leave head bolts untouched. Engine has only 26,000 miles, I'm pretty positive that head gasket is not leaking. Thank you for suggestion 👍
Victor, nice car you got there but is the coolant used in the car original mercedes benz? if not, I think you should use the original one which is the blue one to keep the car original all the way.
thank you for your kind response ,but I'm very sure that the coolant is not green for the whole W140 models, I remember that when I bought a 500CL , it was 1994 model and I got it new, I still remember the coolant was blue , any way what's the harm if you just double check which your local mercedes dealer, because I really like the car you are working on and I just love at least to see it fully maintained up to Mercedes-Benz standard.
Wow, sure must have had lots of oil changes, that's spotless
