I've had the R2 for about two months now. For me the fans aren't very loud unless you're playing on ultra settings and booting the computer. The only setback I've seen when I first bought it is that it does overheat, and I haven't found a definitive solution, though it hasn't over heated for a month.
^ this. Pretty much like any gaming laptop. Performs really well but when you start to push it will be a little loud. As for the over heating, with my time with it I didn't have it. I would though make sure the R2 has enough ventilation. Sometimes rising it so more air passes underneath it helps as well. Little trick that works with gaming laptops.
Fantastic review, I'll keep looking but have you done any reviews on their laptops and are you planning on reviewing their new laptops that are coming out soon?
Sorry for the late reply, my notifications are poo in letting me know when people comment. Im reviewing a normal laptop from DELL not alien ware but I can work possibly getting a unit to test? What would you like to see? Have you seen my Razer Blade review?
I'm looking to get the new Alienware 13 which should be coming out in November. I mean if you were to ever get the chance to Review that or any of their new laptops that would be great to see in the future. I haven't seen your Razor Blade review.... Yet, in fact I'm most likely going to watch it right now lol. I love seeing tech reviews and seeing different perspectives and opinions on something. It's just that these laptops are so new there isn't many reviews on them at the moment and before buying one I'm trying to get as much information as possible.
Yes! I have one and it even runs pubg smoothly on mixed settings. I love this machine. Even stock with the i5 its ran everything I’ve thrown at it! If you can find one for a good deal it’s a no brainer!
ThePapadumGeek Hi, I am looking for a pc that will run games like rocket league, overwatch, cs:go ect, will this run those games on high graphics with an i5 core without the extra amplifier?
Yeah, fuck trying to make a pc, It's better to just get this, hook it up to the tv and buy a controller (can't even use the palivin case for the pc anyways)
ThePapadumGeek it does NOT mate, do your research before you comment. Ive seen many people here being tricked by you. It only works with Nvidia cards. Also saying it can run bf4 on med-high is false, i have the i7 model with 960 and can run bf1 on ultra 1080p easily 60fps
Fantastic edit dude. This was a quality production :) I really enjoyed your review. This looks like an awesome mini-gaming PC.
Nice video. I think I'm going to buy one of the alienware alpha r2.
Good review. What's the noise level from the fan like? I've read reviews that said it is pretty loud when you're gaming, due to the heat levels.

My alienware alpha r2 don't detect amd radeon rx 480 with amplifier. why?
DId you make sure that you have the correct drivers
I think yes. usually, the amplifier should not recognize it automatically? would you explain to me how to do step by step? Thanks
Dante Evil You cant use the graphics amplifier with an Amd card, only works with the Nvidia versions
