WOW, I have seen videos for years(48 y/o) and this is by far the cleanest, most precise and to the point video I have seen in years. I love the format, what you talked about and examples of what was mentioned... SUBSCRIBED!!!
Watched in 2024 and I’m IMPRESSED with to the point and concise overall QUALITY of this video. I buy parts from you guys for my EG hatch build for a couple years. BUT this is first I’ve seen your YT videos. You guys need to start making videos again in 2024 and BEYOND.
Sweet build man! I just got a 1992 honda civic hatchback si! Not quite as lite as the Dx or Hx but really nice. It has the d16z6 in it. I know a little bit about Honda's but I am still retaining any information that I can! Plan on keeping the single jingle and trying to do a reliable turbo setup like u guys did! Awesome work man keep it up.
Jealous, cant find any civic hatchbacks near me on any website within like $10,000 (just looking for my first car in 2 years) my dad sent me a link to a stock 07 civic si coupe (6 speed manual) for like $3,500 and its pretty nice, not tryna sound like i am taking things for granted or be un-grateful but i really like the 90s civic hatchback and would love to have that as a first car. The annoying thing is is that there is a freaking civic hatchback in pretty good condition aside from no paint in some spots around the car at one of our neighbors houses at the bottom of our mountain, but.... it probably isn’t going to be or isn’t for sale sadly. If you read this have a good day.
I want to build my stock d15b2 on a budget of 2k and this definitely helped me decide . I know the b2 isnt the best D series but hey why not have fun with it
On the b7 skip the vitara route and use the p29 pistons and maxspeeding rods 134.50 length...ur compression would be in the 10s..and I have tried both setups vitaras and p29 and I love the p29 route better..car felt alot more responses and the TQ was alot better day and night difference...between the vitara and p29s builds the difference between the 2 was I went with 75.50 on the vitara build 75mm on the p29 and made a lot more power with the same tuners on the p29s..just my 2 cents...good luck
@@brokenboosted1515custom length rods for speed factory and vistra pistons come all the way up and even out the deck over like .05 sum really small like a finger nail that’s been bitten off really high compression 11 sum the better route in my opinion
What happened to the budget turbo d15 build :( you make some really good videos and I was excited to continue watching the build but you haven't made a video on that in over 6 months, come back!
We definitely feel for you... and we apologize, the project is still here but unfortunately put om the back burner as keeping up woth product for our customers has became the #1 priority. Demand has increased so much over the year all our fun projects have been on the sidelines sadly. We have been taking all the necessary steps to get back to it very soon though! We even have videos done for it that just require a little more editing dmto be released and are getting those done soon as well!
Y dnt u throw a vtec head on it so you dnt have to change the transmission because I had a 95 civic sedan with a d15b7 an I think the trans is better than a si del sol my brother had one an my car felt better cuz u dnt have to change gears as fast
I have same motor, non vtec can you advise what to do for ECU? Do you just buy a “chipped p06” That’s my only stipulation to do this swap. Since it’s obd1 and I am not sure on electronics. Thank you
Any chipped OBD1 ECU. The chip dictates the tunes and map for the engine as long as the J1 pin is jumpered. I'd chip a P28 with a modified P06 map in case you swap to VTEC later
Yes they are basically the same blocks. Not 100% the same but mostly. All parts should bolt up to each of them. The transmissions definitely do. Within the same years of course. Like 88-00 is usually fairly similar 88-91, 92-95, 96-00 are the generations so you get even more compatibility within your own generation.
New springs and retainers, and either swap in a JDM D15B cam assembly with locked followers or a good vtec street cam. You can also chip and lower the VTEC engage point to make better low end but with no boost they'll always lack without insane amounts of money put in
Hey was it worth turbocharged your D15b7 motor. I have a 94 Del Sol with the same motor and I was thinking would it be better to swap it with a B16 or B18 with a turbo or keep my stock engine and build it a turbo
@@BurtonRacing thank you very very much have been looking for something like this for years love the video and products (I have a boosted b7) and look forward to installing my coil on plug kit from you guys!
might as well be playing the home made turbo song somewhere on this video lmao if you have not seen the video just search HMT joint and have a laugh from 2006

agreed 100%
How many hp?
"I'm not going to throw out any hp numbers" then proceeds to give us a number 🤣 great video. Excellent overview of the build thanks!

They are all reliable good motors, the difference in power is not much when stock.
I want to see it ripping on the track! The braking anti lag feature sounds amazing love to see it in action
i realize it is kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good website to watch new movies online?
@Dominic Finley ehh I watch on Flixportal. you can find it if you google:) -eduardo
@Eduardo Zayn thank you, I went there and it seems to work =) Appreciate it !
@Dominic Finley Glad I could help xD

The max speeding rods are for the d16 right? B7 and d16 have different big end sizes. How do you get around this
Maxpeedingrods has D15B2 rods, which I'm pretty sure are identical to B7 rods.
Idk how well P29s will hold up to boost heat.

Long live the D! Do you plan to do any milling or decking once the vitara and .5mm longer rods are in order? The c/r seems really low with that combo.
it would be sick if you put the stats or what you guys think this has like HP, TQ, weight, etc! Awesome build!

I subbed because you are so informative and great at explaining in depth everything. I'm a total newb and I appreciate that because it helps me learn!
We appreciate this comment, thats our #1 goal when making videos. Were trying to get some more time to do videos, hopefully soon!
@@BurtonRacing great , do you have advice for my D15B2 forged rod maxspeed 134.5mm and vitara piston with D15Z1 head ? thank's
Ive got a 91 (yes thats right 91) eg SI (d16a8 etc), and this video is tempting me to find some pressure on a budget!
can u make a list of it...?
Awesome video thanks for all these info's!
Great video lot of good information
I have the same engine on my 94 lx sedan. Pretty sure these d15b7's come 102hp stock. Unless thats just for the Lx sedans
Did you do the d15b8 bottom end video? I missed it!!!

Really?
It's setup dependent. Running boost some will keep an ex trans for longer gears. NA usually run the SI trans for getting up to speed quicker
where can i get a manifold like that
just what I was looking for
Nice one 👍💯🔥⛽️🚀🚘🐐💪
What cast manifold you think that's better than the one that's on this car ? I'll love to know.

You never said how much you spent on the waste gate, but can I get a link to it please.
can u put an Si/ex transmission from the d16 on a d15

Nice clean setup.
awesome video!
I may have missed it in the video but what internals are in this thing?
100% factory long block D15B7
So toy chose to make the turbo bigger you didn't have to right. I had a hard time under standing that part
Hey I got a 96 civic with a 2000 d16y8 in it what can do as far as Bolt on's to get a lil extra power don't want to put a turbo on it

Could this also work for a d16?
When’s the dyno tune comin?
Hey was it worth turbocharged your D15b7 motor. I have a 94 Del Sol with the same motor and I was thinking would it be better to swap it with a B16 or B18 with a turbo or keep my stock engine and build it a turbo
What fuel is he using while he was on this setup? If I’m going turbo on a stock block JDM D15B VTEC, I like to use this set up.
why no link to the turbo kit?😪
All individual pieces with some custom modifications, this was not a "kit" that we purchased we pieced all of the components together individually.
Man, I’d love to have seen the dyno day for this car…
Could we have a link to the turbo
Where did you get the headlights
You say you plan on building the bottom end, but I can't find any built bottom end parts. Do you know where to find them?
D15B crank and new rods or get a D16 block
Where is the update videos or anything last video got 18k Views
Holy shit, is this Ocala?
Yes
@burtonracing Where do you get the custom length rods for the b7?
P2p0.com

Hi,what brand is the steering wheel ?
Update?
Cmon now drop the links to the parts
Can I send my car 2 you and do that Build and how much would you charge me
Link to B.O.V ?

Lets go Single jingle.
Put some d15b2 rods and custom nippon racing pm3 pistons
do those chinese hbeams hold up?
Your turbo is backwards
Not even a single pull smh
