I've only shifted 3 times, unless I've mentally shifted without realizing it. I've realized that dog anxiety music is actually a shift for me. I also think that being around my dog while she's kinda crazy is a minor trigger.
My first mental shift I can remember was in kindergarten (and I only learned I was a therian on my 13th birthday) and some kid was coming up to me when I was mad and I lashed out and bit him on the arm until he bled. I almost got kicked out of school because of that. Everyone thought I was just crazy which led me to only having one friend. I kept having little moments like that throughout elementary school until in second grade my parents took my to a therapist... 😞. I lost touch with my wolf self and started gaining friends and became more “normal”. I’m seventh grade is when I had my first mental shift where I fully got into a wolf mindset. I thought I was just a furry for a while because I had no clue what a therian was. But that’s my story.
for me, i do the 4-7-8 breathing patterns (4 second inhale, 7 second pause, 8 second exhale) while repeating one of these four sentences; "the three things that cannot long be hidden are the sun, the moon, and the truth." "i was born into this world to adapt, change, and experience life at it's fullest." "i walk between two worlds, one paw human, one foot wolf, i shall never forget one while loving the other for i am one in the same." the first one is a Buddha quote i learned from a show called "teen wolf," but i connected to it because the show was an anchor for me from a toxic reality. so the mantra may have stopped werewolves from shifting in the show, but it stops me from loosing control =) the other two are from my own poems haha. but the reason i shared these are so if anyone wants they can use these until they find their own words hahaha. *thanks pd for being a mentor to the cubs of the community
I’m a newly awakened therian, and I think I might have had a shift. I’m a yellow lab, (as my pfp drawn by my best friend Alex, who’s a good source in this time of learning, she’s awesome and thinks she may be a therian too) and with that dog personality, gym class was horrible. It didn’t help that we were running volleyball drills, either. Every time a ball rolled or flew up into the air, I felt the urge to drop to four legs, pin it, and puncture it with my teeth. My friend Ava knew about my problems, but didn’t see me. I then felt the urge to just go completely feral, drop to fours, bark at others, howl, and just go dog-crazy. I then excused myself for water as I tried to regain my footing in reality. Is this a shift?
I used to shift a lot in middle school and late elementary, mostly the desire and/or confidence to leap off buildings or high places because I felt full confidence that I could fly. That I could just take off and leave the ground behind. I repressed them so badly that I don't even get those dreams or urges anymore. Trying my best to reconnect and to shift again 💔
My shifts are really out of control. My phantom ears are pretty constant because of noises in my school corridor and my phantom tail triggers in exciting moments, which is very often for someone like me. Thanks for this video because it’s quite a stress :) also farther into the video now I guess my emotions are my triggers, that’s gonna be a problem since I just started a new school ;-;

@ go to the hosbital then, you’re either delusional or have a medical issue. Perhaps both. I’m telling you, if you’re mentally ill or have some sort of disability (which you very well could, it’s common for your folk to be obsessed with these things), I would go to a doctor to get the “phantom choking” checked. I say this because I’ve never seen a “therian” that isn’t disabled or wierd. There is very clearly a connection between disability/delusion and being obsessed with the idea that you are or used to be an animal.
I tend to shift when people pet me lmao. Or when I'm having alot of stress out on me. I've always found that it's easy to stop a shift if someone calls me by my name (by that, I mean not my therian name) it just disorients me to the point of a shift stopping XD
Same. I found out that I'm (maybe) a therian. I think maybe a wolf or a wolfdog. I won't stress me with that. I will just do how I feel. When I'm getting really excited I shift and when someone accept me like I am, but besides of that, when I'm outside and go for a walk then I shift sometimes.
I'm not really sure if this is shifting but when I watch a movie or something about a dog or a wolf, it can really get me into the mindset where it feels just so natural to walk on 4 legs and i feel like im fighting an urge to just hop down onto all fours and run around. it also makes me generally feel a need/urge to act like a canine and i do act like a canine (I am a wolfdog) but im not sure if its the same thing as fully shifting because i am not like fully into the midset of my theroetype, i just get an urge to act much like it and i notice clear changes in myself: i do not want to speak, because it feels unnatural at the time to be doing that, and i want to be alone so i can act the ay it feels right to act but not be around my family because i would be embarassed. but i dont feel like i have become a canine, its more like i am fighting an urge to do so if that makes sense.
i can usually do really good in controlling my shifts and kind of- “block” shifts when necessary- it has taken a LOT of practice, and so it’s been quite the journey but i’ve worked a lot on it :) i promise you, you’ll get there- also im gonna be shifting tonight and so i wanted to watch some positive stuff before i “go to bed” for tonight- aka lay in my bed/den and relax as i’ve been stressed all day-
This past Week, My roomate Had Been repeating something &hollering at her Friend, who just happens to live with us Now, I Growled, And Barked at Both of them. At that Moment they started to Look like Squirrels to me. I Growled again, and Began trying to chase them out of the room. Luckily, we live with 2 other people, who were able to grab me, Hand me a Fidget spinner, some water, And a towel. I was sweating Bullets & did not realize until later, i just had a HUGE Severe M- Shift.
Im not a therian but otherhearted and i wanna shift so bad- Ive been wanting to shift since forever and i never have been able to, but i feel like im gonna soon...Everytime i see a tree in the forest i feel like a lynx and wanna climb it, but most importantly when i see a fluff ball on a cat post, i wanna WACK IT! I recently found therian friends, one is questioning and one has been for a long while, we all wanna shift but havent yet. Thank you for the help, Sincerely, opossum fella.

I shift when I don't realise it, sometimes I don't realise that I'm walking on my all fours, also I have the urge a lot to howl,bark,growl,whimper etc.
One thing that triggered my shift was a pair of socks 🧦......A PAIR OF SOCKS!! I was playing with the socks(like an animal on all fours) and my Auntie saw me and snapped me out of it but it was embarrassing.
This video helped alot, but what I'm looking for is a way to go into a severe shift. I dont have a very long attention span, so a short explanation would be cool. I have triggers, like being around my dog when she's crazy, being in the woods, seeing deer, howling, being in my den, etc. But I want to know how to severe shift.
Really the only thing you can do is combine triggers with severe (provoked) emotions. Search the triggers for shifts, and the triggers for severe emotions from happines to anger and combine the two. Emotions make shifts stronger and more severe. Getting 'into the mindset' deeply helps too, which is often influenced by concentrations/meditations or a trigger like being with another therian, good friend or other situations.

I don’t really shift but my friend struggles with severe shifts in bad situations. I’m usually the one who has to rescue her from doing something she shouldn’t. I literally have to hold her down until she calms down- shes got a predator theriotype and it shows. A lot. Times like that when I’m happy I don’t shift, except ph-shift (thx pd😂) and m-shift. I do still meditate to try, id like to know if i can actually do it.
Most of the shifts I have are mental or phantom shifts, and I've noticed that they happen a lot more at night. I was kept awake all night before writing this because I had 3 mental shifts, where i just walked and ran around my room and just overall acting like my theriotype (cat). I had 2 phantom shifts, the first one was kinda brief, i kept feeling a tail flicking behind me. The second one kinda startled me a bit because it was a pretty intense phantom shift. I felt completely like a cat physically, just for a minute. Also, during my mental shifts, I kept feeling fur raising on my back.

I have severe shifts often, especially in the middle of the night. My surroundings change into a forest-like area and I run on all fours to my fridge and I eat all of the meats in there, this helps a lot thank you!

im not entirely sure that im a therian. i remember as a young child id get mad at my brother for stealing my spot on the couch and i just completely lashed out. i bit his side, like, hard. i dont even know what made me do it, it just felt like an instinct. i remember as a kid i always wanted to roleplay as wolves with my friend and wed get on all fours and it felt weirdly familiar, but it also made me comfy. i never felt like i was “fitting in” with everyone else. sometimes i think i have a wolf snout, paws, fangs, or ears, but its just my mind playing tricks on me. when i got on all fours and practiced quadrobics, like trotting, running, pouncing, and etc, it just felt comfortable. ive never howled, but sometimes i really want to. just like, randomly. ive tried to shift yesterday in my sleep, but it didnt work. (if anything i def think im a wolf therian). could a fellow therian help me out? does it sound like i might be one?
I can definitely understand why it's dangerous sometimes when shifting. Once my BEST FRIEND made me angry and I actually bit her... really.. really hard. It left a mark for about two days but we got into a really bad argument. I have learned how to control shifts a bit more but it can still be hard to control sometimes
my "best shift" and my first shift! 1. i was in the woods and heard a bird so like the predator i was, i got a phantom limbs and my ears moved to the sound! and it was right there! the bird! so then i stared at it thats when i shifted, i had like flung myself in a perfect form- like better then what i usually have- and thats when I jumped in a bush, then you know what, i overcame my shift, and there i was, up in a tree. 2. one day at recess when was younger we were playing forest, and i played as a wolf (thats not my theriantype tho) and everyone kinda crawled, barked, and howeld, then i had my first ever shift, (my shifts always have phantom lmbs btw) and felt like i had ears, and a tail, and i got so confused so i looked behind me and there is nothing, and so i kept playing until when everyone was going to howl, it turend into like a hiss, then i swear i started to rember my past live, but i dident know so i thought i just was imagining it, thats when i started to dig,and i fully shifted, i dig a good size hole and then it stopped and had no idea wh i did that. ty for listening!!! sorry for all the spelling mistakes! tell me if there is any! -𝐅𝐢𝐳 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝗼𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 𓃦♡
Thank you! I've found that animation storytime TH-camrs help with my shifts! Oddly it does my feral and wildcat theriotype, my frog theriotype, and my deer theriotype! It's fun but phantom shifts have been annoying lately and now I know how to stop them! Tyyy
Tysm for helping me stop shifting!! Today I had like 3-4 shifts unexpectedly and it was getting really annoying. When I searched up how to stop a shift I saw your video and it helped a ton! (I’m a therian btw)
My first mental shift was when I was in Prep/pre-school, and i brang my favourite teddy to school. One of my friends tried to take it and I had a very protective shift. I clawed and bit them, as if protecting my young. At that time, I didn't even know what a therian was!
My shifts are never too bad, even when I was younger, although the strangest Shifts I have are Sangheili mandibles when eating. Anyway, great video as always PD!
I’ve never had a mental shift before, but I have had some little shifts and sometimes when I’m in a room with my cats or my dog I tend to act more like an animal around them and I play fight with my dog sometimes, but not aggressively and I think it’s fun in ways cause it’s like my dog seems to get that I act like an animal for what she is more sometimes. I’ve also recently met more therian and have became friends with them. I practice quads and all that sorts of stuff with my friends. But the times when I shift the most is when I’m camping with my family.. since my therio type is a cross fox, and they live a forest and stuff when we are somewhere or camping I tend to act not like a human at almost all times. So yeah long story. Lesson learned always be careful if you shift as a Therian.
I have had some extreme shifts but there was this one time where a kid brought a lazar pointer to school and I started like pawing at it and started chasing it over my desk and dude at the end of the day he did it again but did it all over the classroom and I got a crowd of people around me and I started paincing so I ran underneath a table and my friends got the people away cause I was about to snap at them cause I know I’m a big cat but it has some domestic features so I was about attack I was in the cat attacking pose and started like growling and hissing. They knew that I did this when I’m panicked or distresses so they got me out of there and after school my therian friend helped me start a shift then stop a shift and controlling my shifts. Now it not as bad but I do sometimes want to like bite something or hunt or fight.
I had only figured out i was a therian recently, I've always seen and supported therians but after looking through some memories it just kind of came to me.

I only just recently figured out I’m a therian, and it turns out I’ve been having phantom shifts since I was in 1st grade. I would get shifts like I had a pair of cat:Fox ears, and/or a cat or fox tail
I really find a couple triggers are seeing like POVs of cats exploring woodlands or whatever and hearing like bird sounds or like gushing water. It makes me start doing what’s called “biscuit making” when cats massage a blanket or something with their paws lol or it makes me get on all floors and start like pawing at (for example): a glove on the floor.
My Shift Memory I was just sitting on the couch, watching my tablet. Then suddenly i lose my control and start staring at my sister angrily...Then i just made a jump while hissing at my sister, so i jumped of the couch, then start running to my sister, my sister was scared and she was running from me (she is 2 years old), i get more angry when she ran away from me. I runned faster, then i just catched her. Then i bit her arm. And i get in control. I was like "eh..sorry-" then im running back with my all fours to the couch. Bro that was so embarrassing, i feel worried for making a 2 year old scared and cry 💀😭
When I was younger I had this friend I would play games with where we would do “adventures” in our yards and parks, and she oiled always be a cat or wolf, and I would always be a fox. We’d walk around on all fours and do vocals, and I’d kind of see myself with a tail and ears and claws. I think I was just really shifty at that time… we both turned out to be therians haha
Personally i dont have severe or extreme shifts, but just reading the comments its very interesting seeing experiences others have had! I do get phantom shifts very often though, and occasionally if im doing quads
Thanks for this! My dragon shifts tend to be pretty severe, plus feeling too small and having too much energy for my body, meaning doing quads or similar things tends not to make the shift go away, and just suppressing it is really uncomfortable.
The theme song of the TV-show ‘Wolf blood’ makes me really shifty. One of my theriotypes is a timber wolf and it’s really exiting and nice m-shift for me! (^-^) -Crystal🐾🐺🐱💠
I remember like 2 months ago I was mad at my parents so I walked to my room and then all of a sudden I got a really aggressive and scary shift I felt like I wanted to growl, bite etc. and I felt trapped. the shift was so strong that i started to panic and I cried. After that i went for a walk in the forest bc the forest calms me down. 🙂
I would add this. Use earplugs or noise blockers to block out harsh sounds. Wear a mask or respirator to filter out harsh smells. Wear sunglasses or get transition lenses when going out in the bright sun. Take a breather from stressful situations and find a quiet place where you can center yourself. These can all help with sensory shifts. If these sound like accommodations for autistic people with hypersensitivity, that's because they are. I'm autistic, and a therian with hypersensitivity that gets easily aggravated. What works for one will likely work for the other. Most of my shifts are dream shifts though, and I'm a lucid dreamer so I'm aware of what's going on. If that happens, then just be yourself. Go nuts.

Today I checked for my tail and saw a brownish tail. When I couldnt feel a tail and forgot I am not a cat, I almost cried. Now i wanna have a phantom shift again. My friend zane always phantom shifts
This helped a lot bc of this I found out I shift to music bc when I listen to like therian music it makes me get my paws out and I do quads on my bed. Not all the time it works but it does most of the time
I really want to be able to shift but I find it difficult. As a newly awakened therian (very newly awakened!) I wish to feel alive again, feel like my theriotype. It probably doesn’t help that I am unsure of my theriotype though 😂
My sister has a mental disorder where it feels like someone is in control of her body, but she says it feels like she is being controlled by a predator, yesterday she was stuck in a large tree in a forest, and we had to call a firefighter to help rescue her😢 I feel very bad for her, she was bleeding on her arm and legs a bit when she came home☹️❤💔
I remember at like 5/6 I was on a playground and I was on all fours, I then went to the highest peak and jumped off, I came out with minor injuries but honestly it was kinda scary… shifting can be fun but sometimes it can be scary…
I'm not a therian, per se, but I think I'm animal hearted. And I believe my kith type is a big cat, of some kind. I know that it's possible for animal hearted people to have 'cameo shifts' (I think that's what they're called.) And I have felt these shifts before. So I clicked on this video. And now I understand why watching certain parts of 'The Lion King' makes me shift a bit.
Ive only ever had one shift in my life, and that was a phantom shift. I want tj shift again, somehow, I just want to be able to remember that feeling. I get closest to shifting with music, but a very specific type that is very hard to find, so I will try my best to find the right songs.
I just realized I get anger shifts all the time!when someone does something I don’t like i get into a shift, being told what to do. That triggers them.
I don’t really shift I don’t think well I try to When I listen to therian meditation and it tells me what to do to start shifting, I feel really weird inside and when I open my eyes, I’m in my bedroom and i don’t shift at all when I open my eyes so I don’t really know if you have to open your eyes or not but usually I open my eyes and I don’t know why I don’t shift when I open my eyes, can someone help me?
My first shift was when i was 8 my brothers made me angry i lashed out on them and my parents called me animalistic i was put outside for awhile to calm down
I'm able to shift and unshift normally during spring summer and early fall but late fall and all of winter I have trouble shifting cuz there is snow outside and there is no tall grass or forest in my house so I'm not really able to shift
I never have shifts like other therians probably because im a younger therian what happens to me as that do do an action like if a leaf is falling i will chase it and pounce on it sometimes but i never really get on my all fours or start meowing
someone help ! , my shifts always are violent mostly when im angry then my friends have to hold me back from getting near my enemies, *because i go for the kill* ( the neck suffocation bite) and then proceed to try to shake them like a rag doll if i had a chance id consume them ... _ haven't gotten to that stage lol any tips for not wanting to do that to people :)) real help! im safe i have two dogs a cat two kittens 3 owls lizard fish so im sane just my wolf isn't :) lol

I’m a pretty new and younger alterhuman (therian and otherkin) and I have a hard time with stopping shifts. When I shift, especially if I’ve just watched a movie with my theriotypes or kintypes in it, I can’t stop my shifts. If I get a shift in the water, I feel as if I’m a bottlenose dolphin and usually those are pretty chill. When I feel like a velociraptor that’s when I get dangerous. I’ve literally gone crazy with a shift in class. When I feel like a Jurassic movie raptor or an indoraptor those shifts are my danger shifts. Same. I found out that I'm (maybe) a therian. I think maybe a wolf or a wolfdog. I won't stress me with that. I will just do how I feel.
When I'm getting really excited I shift and when someone accept me like I am, but besides of that, when I'm outside and go for a walk then I shift sometimes.
I'm not really sure if this is shifting but when I watch a movie or something about a dog or a wolf, it can really get me into the mindset where it feels just so natural to walk on 4 legs and i feel like im fighting an urge to just hop down onto all fours and run around. it also makes me generally feel a need/urge to act like a canine and i do act like a canine (I am a wolfdog) but im not sure if its the same thing as fully shifting because i am not like fully into the midset of my theroetype, i just get an urge to act much like it and i notice clear changes in myself: i do not want to speak, because it feels unnatural at the time to be doing that, and i want to be alone so i can act the ay it feels right to act but not be around my family because i would be embarassed. but i dont feel like i have become a canine, its more like i am fighting an urge to do so if that makes sense.

i can usually do really good in controlling my shifts and kind of- “block” shifts when necessary- it has taken a LOT of practice, and so it’s been quite the journey but i’ve worked a lot on it :)

This past Week, My roomate Had Been repeating something &hollering at her Friend, who just happens to live with us Now, I Growled, And Barked at Both of them. At that Moment they started to Look like Squirrels to me. I Growled again, and Began trying to chase them out of the room. Luckily, we live with 2 other people, who were able to grab me, Hand me a Fidget spinner, some water, And a towel. I was sweating Bullets & did not realize until later, i just had a HUGE Severe M- Shift.

I shift when I don't realise it, sometimes I don't realise that I'm walking on my all fours, also I have the urge a lot to howl,bark,growl,whimper etc.
One thing that triggered my shift was a pair of socks 🧦......A PAIR OF SOCKS!! I was playing with the socks(like an animal on all fours) and my Auntie saw me and snapped me out of it but it was embarrassing.
This video helped alot, but what I'm looking for is a way to go into a severe shift. I dont have a very long attention span, so a short explanation would be cool. I have triggers, like being around my dog when she's crazy, being in the woods, seeing deer, howling, being in my den, etc. But I want to know how to severe shift.
Really the only thing you can do is combine triggers with severe (provoked) emotions. Search the triggers for shifts, and the triggers for severe emotions from happines to anger and combine the two. Emotions make shifts stronger and more severe. Getting 'into the mindset' deeply helps too, which is often influenced by concentrations/meditations or a trigger like being with another therian, good friend or other situations.

I don’t really shift but my friend struggles with severe shifts in bad situations. I’m usually the one who has to rescue her from doing something she shouldn’t. I literally have to hold her down until she calms down- shes got a predator theriotype and it shows. A lot.
Times like that when I’m happy I don’t shift, except ph-shift (thx pd😂) and m-shift. I do still meditate to try, id like to know if i can actually do it.

Most of the shifts I have are mental or phantom shifts, and I've noticed that they happen a lot more at night. I was kept awake all night before writing this because I had 3 mental shifts, where i just walked and ran around my room and just overall acting like my theriotype (cat). I had 2 phantom shifts, the first one was kinda brief, i kept feeling a tail flicking behind me. The second one kinda startled me a bit because it was a pretty intense phantom shift. I felt completely like a cat physically, just for a minute. Also, during my mental shifts, I kept feeling fur raising on my back.

I have severe shifts often, especially in the middle of the night. My surroundings change into a forest-like area and I run on all fours to my fridge and I eat all of the meats in there, this helps a lot thank you!
Seeing videos of wolves running and howling always makes me shift. I'm not good at running on four legs tho but I want to so badly as soon as I see wolves running!

im not entirely sure that im a therian. i remember as a young child id get mad at my brother for stealing my spot on the couch and i just completely lashed out. i bit his side, like, hard. i dont even know what made me do it, it just felt like an instinct. i remember as a kid i always wanted to roleplay as wolves with my friend and wed get on all fours and it felt weirdly familiar, but it also made me comfy. i never felt like i was “fitting in” with everyone else. sometimes i think i have a wolf snout, paws, fangs, or ears, but its just my mind playing tricks on me. when i got on all fours and practiced quadrobics, like trotting, running, pouncing, and etc, it just felt comfortable. ive never howled, but sometimes i really want to. just like, randomly. ive tried to shift yesterday in my sleep, but it didnt work. (if anything i def think im a wolf therian). could a fellow therian help me out? does it sound like i might be one?
i also have had and still have a large apatite for meat and fruit.
The "how to stop shifting" really helped me as i haven't told my family yet and i dont want to shift while near them, so thank you PD!
I can definitely understand why it's dangerous sometimes when shifting. Once my BEST FRIEND made me angry and I actually bit her... really.. really hard. It left a mark for about two days but we got into a really bad argument. I have learned how to control shifts a bit more but it can still be hard to control sometimes

i was in the woods and heard a bird so like the predator i was, i got a phantom limbs and my ears moved to the sound! and it was right there! the bird! so then i stared at it
thats when i shifted, i had like flung myself in a perfect form- like better then what i usually have- and thats when I jumped in a bush, then you know what,
i overcame my shift, and there i was, up in a tree.

one day at recess when was younger we were playing forest, and i played as a wolf
(thats not my theriantype tho) and everyone kinda crawled, barked, and howeld, then i had my first ever shift, (my shifts always have phantom lmbs btw) and felt like i had ears, and a tail, and i got so confused so i looked behind me and there is nothing, and so i kept playing until when everyone was going to howl, it turend into like a hiss, then i swear i started to rember my past live, but i dident know so i thought i just was imagining it, thats when i started to dig,and i fully shifted, i dig a good size hole and then it stopped and had no idea wh i did that.

My first mental shift was when I was in Prep/pre-school, and i brang my favourite teddy to school. One of my friends tried to take it and I had a very protective shift. I clawed and bit them, as if protecting my young. At that time, I didn't even know what a therian was!
My shifts are never too bad, even when I was younger, although the strangest Shifts I have are Sangheili mandibles when eating. Anyway, great video as always PD!

I’ve never had a mental shift before, but I have had some little shifts and sometimes when I’m in a room with my cats or my dog I tend to act more like an animal around them and I play fight with my dog sometimes, but not aggressively and I think it’s fun in ways cause it’s like my dog seems to get that I act like an animal for what she is more sometimes. I’ve also recently met more therian and have became friends with them. I practice quads and all that sorts of stuff with my friends. But the times when I shift the most is when I’m camping with my family.. since my therio type is a cross fox, and they live a forest and stuff when we are somewhere or camping I tend to act not like a human at almost all times. So yeah long story. Lesson learned always be careful if you shift as a Therian.
I have had some extreme shifts but there was this one time where a kid brought a lazar pointer to school and I started like pawing at it and started chasing it over my desk and dude at the end of the day he did it again but did it all over the classroom and I got a crowd of people around me and I started paincing so I ran underneath a table and my friends got the people away cause I was about to snap at them cause I know I’m a big cat but it has some domestic features so I was about attack I was in the cat attacking pose and started like growling and hissing. They knew that I did this when I’m panicked or distresses so they got me out of there and after school my therian friend helped me start a shift then stop a shift and controlling my shifts. Now it not as bad but I do sometimes want to like bite something or hunt or fight.
I had only figured out i was a therian recently, I've always seen and supported therians but after looking through some memories it just kind of came to me.
I shifted once in the rain, without knowing I was shifting, I found out I'm an therian as I was 10 near at 11.
Came back again bc i almost shifted rlly hard and this helped.

my first ever shift was before i even knew i was a therian, it was at summer camp, me and my friends where just hanging out and all of a sudden everyone is pointing at this deer at the edge of the camp, i had a HUGE mental shift and almost ran at it but i didnt also my friend siad they heard me growling oof

I only just recently figured out I’m a therian, and it turns out I’ve been having phantom shifts since I was in 1st grade. I would get shifts like I had a pair of cat:Fox ears, and/or a cat or fox tail
I really find a couple triggers are seeing like POVs of cats exploring woodlands or whatever and hearing like bird sounds or like gushing water. It makes me start doing what’s called “biscuit making” when cats massage a blanket or something with their paws lol or it makes me get on all floors and start like pawing at (for example): a glove on the floor.
And swimming in pool water triggers my golden retriever theriotype!
My Shift Memory
I was just sitting on the couch, watching my tablet. Then suddenly i lose my control and start staring at my sister angrily...Then i just made a jump while hissing at my sister, so i jumped of the couch, then start running to my sister, my sister was scared and she was running from me (she is 2 years old), i get more angry when she ran away from me. I runned faster, then i just catched her. Then i bit her arm. And i get in control. I was like "eh..sorry-" then im running back with my all fours to the couch.
Bro that was so embarrassing, i feel worried for making a 2 year old scared and cry 💀😭

When I was younger I had this friend I would play games with where we would do “adventures” in our yards and parks, and she oiled always be a cat or wolf, and I would always be a fox. We’d walk around on all fours and do vocals, and I’d kind of see myself with a tail and ears and claws. I think I was just really shifty at that time… we both turned out to be therians haha
Personally i dont have severe or extreme shifts, but just reading the comments its very interesting seeing experiences others have had! I do get phantom shifts very often though, and occasionally if im doing quads
Thanks for this! My dragon shifts tend to be pretty severe, plus feeling too small and having too much energy for my body, meaning doing quads or similar things tends not to make the shift go away, and just suppressing it is really uncomfortable.

I remember like 2 months ago I was mad at my parents so I walked to my room and then all of a sudden I got a really aggressive and scary shift I felt like I wanted to growl, bite etc. and I felt trapped. the shift was so strong that i started to panic and I cried. After that i went for a walk in the forest bc the forest calms me down. 🙂
Because you know my parents have blocked pay cards because of my brother and i bought it in store so i have it finally!
I would add this. Use earplugs or noise blockers to block out harsh sounds. Wear a mask or respirator to filter out harsh smells. Wear sunglasses or get transition lenses when going out in the bright sun. Take a breather from stressful situations and find a quiet place where you can center yourself. These can all help with sensory shifts. If these sound like accommodations for autistic people with hypersensitivity, that's because they are. I'm autistic, and a therian with hypersensitivity that gets easily aggravated. What works for one will likely work for the other.
Most of my shifts are dream shifts though, and I'm a lucid dreamer so I'm aware of what's going on. If that happens, then just be yourself. Go nuts.

My sister has a mental disorder where it feels like someone is in control of her body, but she says it feels like she is being controlled by a predator, yesterday she was stuck in a large tree in a forest, and we had to call a firefighter to help rescue her😢 I feel very bad for her, she was bleeding on her arm and legs a bit when she came home☹️❤💔
I remember at like 5/6 I was on a playground and I was on all fours, I then went to the highest peak and jumped off, I came out with minor injuries but honestly it was kinda scary… shifting can be fun but sometimes it can be scary…
I'm not a therian, per se, but I think I'm animal hearted.
And I believe my kith type is a big cat, of some kind.
I know that it's possible for animal hearted people to have 'cameo shifts' (I think that's what they're called.) And I have felt these shifts before.

I’m a pretty new and younger alterhuman (therian and otherkin) and I have a hard time with stopping shifts. When I shift, especially if I’ve just watched a movie with my theriotypes or kintypes in it, I can’t stop my shifts. If I get a shift in the water, I feel as if I’m a bottlenose dolphin and usually those are pretty chill. When I feel like a velociraptor that’s when I get dangerous. I’ve literally gone crazy with a shift in class. When I feel like a Jurassic movie raptor or an indoraptor those shifts are my danger shifts. If I’m angry and I get a shift I really feel like an animal and I hate it. Thank you for this video. Hopefully these tips can help me
