  • The Toyota Land Cruiser has sold over 10 million vehicles worldwide. It is legendary and known for being indestructible. However, after years of hard work and off-roading, this Land Cruiser, belonging to Gary’s brother, has seen better days. This restoration pushes Gary to his limits. This time, has he bitten off more than he can chew?

this is sooooo refreshing from some American style resto vlogs, crap rock music, bloated personalities, hyperbole. This was relaxing, engaging and chill. Love it.

I second that even though I would not mind seeing more of the actual work and hear Gary explaining the how and why about it. It happens but is far too rare.

I can never get over your patience and attention to detail, Gary! What a shame your brother didn’t seem to appreciate all your hard work. Very magnanimous of you to accept that it’s his car in the end and whatever he wants to do with it is up to him. But still……it looked so good when you’d finished it and had even sourced the correct steering wheel and carpet. Another great video!

The brother doesn't deserve to own such a refurbished beauty. Shame on him but all the praise goes to you. Again, such great work and passion.

Amazing to see it finished, but so disappointing to see it later. Oh well, you are only responsible for your own actions, not anybody else's. Unfortunately, it probably makes you not want to bother for your brother again, but hopefully it won't deter you from helping somebody else some day. Anyway, I am sure that I am not alone in appreciating the amazing work you did.

That's brothers for you. Anyway, this was a great watch and I'm glad I stumbled across this channel. I guess at the end of the day this Land Cruiser will last much longer than it would have if you hadn't dug in and brought it back from the brink. I'm sure Lee appreciates it nonetheless even if it doesn't appear that way. Fantastic work by the way, some lovely touches.

I drove dozens of these in the 80s when I worked on seismic crews out in the Gulf. It always makes me laugh when Top Gear and others bang on about how tough the Hi-Lux is, they are kids’ toys next to the Land Cruiser. We never took Hi-luxs into big sand, way too fragile, but Land Cruisers would lap it up.

You did an amazing restoration that's clear but as you said you became emotionally attached to the stock restoration whereas your brother was attached to the blingy jeep in yellow with the bull bars and the oversized wheels! But he really needs to be a bit more appreciative of 4months banging away outside that is real graft. Not sure if the low VOC paint was for the benefit of the neighbours but if so big up yourself you're being as considerate as you can. Great channel and content, subbed.
