the old ford model 8N tractor on our farm had a 3 brush generator like this. simple way to keep the generator from cooking the battery.

Thanks for watching! I have some 8N parts in the T engine.

I was wondering how does the magneto system in Ford Model T dont shock the driver it is ac current right? And what about the baterry why it does not get flown up be over chargeing it???

The Magneto system on the Model T IS high-voltage AC. But it is not connected to the battery and starter system. There is a master switch on the dash with which you select EITHER the Magneto or the Battery for the ignition. The Battery and Generator circuit is independent of the Magneti circuit. Excellent question! :)

@@flivverchannel But still they were not realy speciafic even if that magneto is indead ac electricity of any cinde it still shuld shock some one true the car boddy unless they put electrolutic capacitor on the ground side of the magneto or do I am incorect in that theori?
Because when me diodes on the alternator go bade or its back charging I still get preaty much shocked over time.
So Im not shure about realy what model T used dry cell baterry or not .
But that switch confuse me as well does it remove only 1 post from baterry or bouth?
So lot peopel were not realy specific about those circuets honestly thats why me confusion arose.
How much I culd tell it is nearly identical to alternator, and looking at the Rosenber generator me starter motor look nearly identical even recently dual or multipel relays some where some how arced to me car boddy the engine worked in union with the blinker relay that was odd behavior so I was actualy shocked from that thing multipel times and me car run kinde of with the key compleately removed that was odd behaviore .
So Im confident it wuld work only thing I dont understand how not to get shocked thats good question .
Im doing this because me origina HEI ignition system is sloppy doesnt have retard/advance system and the ic chip inside the 4 pin gm ignition module is restricted in power and does not work at low rpm that I requare for low speed high torque aplication.
So thats why I try out to see if I can coppy that Model T magneto system some how with out inerfearing with the battery so photos videos or web sites wuld be great please to help be so I can try to build some thing similar multipel times me engine run ON so I liked its smuthnes power and I want to try useing AC power on me ignition coil to try and bether control it with potenciometers dc pulses dont work well for me .
So thats why me curiosety was great to ask such strange questions I have in the cold morning problems starting engine so I need to figure out bether ways sadly I dont have advance/retard lever like Model T so Im litel bit in problem there
