    Thank you so so much for this video. I started this last evening and got so frustrated at this exact section. I must have tried it five times and was just getting more and more frustrated. I posted a comment on the Ravelry page, but seeing that some of the comments were several years old I figured I wouldn't get a response. On a whim I decided to look for a video, and what did I find but yours. This is exactly what I needed and you make it seem so easy now. Thank you. I bought a bunch of cakes on clearance and I think this is the perfect pattern to use them up.

    At 6 minutes, the reason it says to knit one when there are two stitches on the wrong side row is because the join includes another slip stitch there. After you turn your work, slip the first stitch purlwise with the yarn in front. Then knit one.

  • @malainaknits168
    @malainaknits168 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why not work it similar to the regular ten stitch where you join by knitting to the end of the row, picking up a stitch through the selvedge edge and then knitting two together when you turn the work?

    • @jennyknits
      @jennyknits  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can certainly do that too.

    Well maybe try number 4 will work out. So I thought I was doing so well and I was so happy I was back to ten. And working my round. Well just as I went to sew up the middle I did something wrong and it started making like a hat type of dome and wasn’t laying flat. As well as I went to sew in the middle and I had 4 stitches pulling loose. Does anyone have any ideas why it was not laying flat and how to correct it next time? May try to log on to a live video for help if your still doing those!!

      I worked a different project that had that problem, and it meant I had too many stitches, so they coned up, rather than lay flat. Maybe try working less pie pieces? Might help.

    I am still stuck at getting from the first kfb to attaching at the first stitch on the cast on edge. Does there happen to be a lefty video for this section you might know of? Thanks in advance!

    Another question. After you have completed the pie wedges, do you turn, then kfb, then turn again?

    • @jennyknits
      @jennyknits  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might have to turn in order for your connecting stitch to be in the right place. It's hard to tell if your knitting gets flipped around at this point. Whether you turn it or not, doesn't really matter, You just want to be headed in the right direction so that as you increase your stitches and attach your new column to the outside of the circle everything is in order.

    patterns says: Where possible, all outside first stitches are slipped knitwise to help with the joining. NOT purlwise,

    • @jennyknits
      @jennyknits  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I typically slip purlwise with the yarn in front, then bring the yarn to the back to continue knitting. But you can do it however you want.
