The first years of Coldplay are a truly underestimate treasure. "Parachutes" is one of the best alternative rock albums i've ever heard. A very unique sound. Very deep and dark. It was not britpop. It was not grunge. Yeah, "Yellow" doesn't fit in the sound of Parachutes, and ironically, is the most known song by far.
This is one of the greatest songs of all time. So crazy that they came up with it right at the start of their career, and that it wasn't a case of "one hit wonder".
I was there at that festival on that day at the front of the crowd in front of the stage. Coldplay were still relatively unknown and I had recently bought the Parachutes album. Chris Martin compared the song "Yellow" with GunsNRoses Sweet Child of Mine and said something like "This song is much better" and "You've probably never heard of us but we're very good", to which I and one other guy down the side shouted "I know you!!! I love you!!!" or something like that. During "Spies" I remember the bridge section where the song really peaks, especially the drums, and right then I remember thinking this band are really going to take off. A lot of the crowd had wandered off not knowing they were seeing the up-and-coming world's biggest band. I knew and I was there for it. Unfortunately, however, about 999 rock bands then attempted to copy them. ;-)
parachutess x&y and rush of blood to the head are masterpeices their well known overplayed tracks makes people put them down as just some soppy pop band with soppy songs their albums are great
Spot on and the full gig they played here is IMO the very best I have seen of them, but I guess I'm biased co I consider Parachutes to be their best album :)
is good to have top songs, in my opinion the most of their OLD songs are great, I love it very much, I hope one day they will play that good old magic concert again..
Saw the last week in Barcelona and eventhough it was a massive show now I have the feeling that it was just a colossal light show. They hardly stayed 2 hours on the stage and musically they are far from Parachutes, A rush of.. and X&Y.
Is called Man With The Harmonica, Coldplay back in the 2000 were touring with Muse and became friends with them so maybe Muse took the idea from Coldplay
Jonathan Buckland is one of my two favourite guitarrists ever, and he's also one of my main influences, but I'm not sure what he is using at 1:29 (Not the slide) Can anyone tell me?
Mr. Maple rifky i exactly thought same with you. jonny is a very underrated and different creative guitarist. he's not shredding he's just playing true notes in true time.
Spleen s'installe la mélancolie guitare lancinante basse batterie intense You feel so bad cause you know💘they don't catch where we sleep✌💘 Magnifique chanson chantée avec passion et vérité👍il était une fois dans coldplay story☺✌
wow, this crowd has no idea what they're seeing.
+Corey Paul ikr?
Corey Paul I know it’s so cool to look back at this wonderful performance knowing how far they have come :)
In 2000 coldplay was a band whose songs were just beginning to become famous.
But Chris came out strong and confident! That crowd had to know they were experiencing something special!
Literally man...

de lo mejor
This is so spot on
Spot on, yellow is the only song I skip on that album
@@dougharvey9766 but sometimes Yellow is perfect for a certain day
Parachutes is my favorite Coldplay's album. It's a treasure, like you said.
we are the first band on the festival. well don't forget this, remember us....
Pure Coldplay. . .
they will@@ssm2942
Spies, shiver, and sparks are the best Coldplay songs ever
For me Spies is one of their top 5 songs! I love it, throws me into a very deep and unusual mood every time I hear it.
Their Top 1 song IMO.
drop your other 4 songs
I miss COLDPLAY era so much! 😢😢😢😢😢
it's crazy to see that even Coldplay used to have only like twenty people knowing their music on their shows :) I like this rare concert
20 people?
What amazing introduction by Jonny Buckland.
Chilling.
Jonny is absolute magician on the guitar.
This is one of the greatest songs of all time. So crazy that they came up with it right at the start of their career, and that it wasn't a case of "one hit wonder".
Better than most of their hits.
The real coldplay
I was expecting knights of Cydonia to start after that intro XD
I exactly thought the same! hehe
stestalker

That is really extraordinary experinece :) What is your feeling about their latest albums?
I miss this Coldplay Forever
This Coldplay is what I imagined Coldplay to be like when I hadn’t even seen them...
This song is very dear to me
This live performance is what made me fall in love with parachutes
Greatness from small beginnings
😢😢😢😢 i miss this era so much
Me too
@@kathybell8298 i never left
I love this version because it captures the coldness and unforgiveness of the album's version.
In 40 years of listening to what should be great music this get its right place in .. one of the finest deep song ever heard ! What a song !!
Parachutes is a perfect display of musical genius!
So cool seeing they weren't that popular lmao now they play stadiums lmao
parachutess x&y and rush of blood to the head are masterpeices
their well known overplayed tracks makes people put them down as just some soppy pop band with soppy songs their albums are great
2000, 2010, or 2019 no matter what the year. They sound amazing
I miss with all my heart this times
Wow. 20 years ago. When Coldplay was still about music, not making more money by being more popular...
That's just a two year difference.
ghost stories was their last good stuff
That's a top flight live performance...👏💥
This was when coldplay was one of the greatest bands of all time and not just a regular old pop band like nowadays
is called evolution, a clear example is Keane or Travis you mencion, they still living in 2000's
That's the real Coldplay, not that kid party they do today...
Agreed..
Well said and correct.
👍🏻
Spot on and the full gig they played here is IMO the very best I have seen of them, but I guess I'm biased co I consider Parachutes to be their best album :)
Great comment !!!!!!!!
is good to have top songs, in my opinion the most of their OLD songs are great, I love it very much, I hope one day they will play that good old magic concert again..
2:03 never knew Coldplay did Spies - it was featured in the final season of the original La Femme Nikita series. Amazing.
Saudades desse Coldplay D:
Ai que era bom

Saw the last week in Barcelona and eventhough it was a massive show now I have the feeling that it was just a colossal light show. They hardly stayed 2 hours on the stage and musically they are far from Parachutes, A rush of.. and X&Y.
Fucken how good was early Coldplay.

Chris Martin opening in 2000 ' don't forget about us in three days time' !
It's 2020 - still the biggest band in the world!
What he uses is called an Ebow *flies away*
And the SLIDE
Una obra de arte esta canción junto con este film
Holy...xxit!! The writer it’s Ennio, no wonder. What a masterpiece.
You talk about the "intro song", played before SPIES, right? 😉
I love coldplay the best Chris Martin amazing😘😘
This is awesome. It needs so many more views
the intro is a piece of Music by Ennio Morricone's music for the Sergio's Leone film film Once Upon in the West
전설의 탄생;
viva coldplay es lo mejor
por que tan pocas visitar?? PEDAZO DE BANDA BUENISIMO
Because they weren't as big and popular back then as they are today, the crowds they got were a small because of that reason.
Best version
Great live preformers!!!!
And In still shivering
so good
Kesinlikle
I have this album on vinyl hanged in my game room
Is called Man With The Harmonica, Coldplay back in the 2000 were touring with Muse and became friends with them so maybe Muse took the idea from Coldplay

That is called an ebow. It buzzes the string magnetically.
Mr. Maple I bet your other favourite guitarist is Jonny Greenwood
Nope, James Valentine
jpinndle 2121
Thanks, I forgot the name
Mr. Maple rifky i exactly thought same with you. jonny is a very underrated and different creative guitarist. he's not shredding he's just playing true notes in true time.
Beautiful "athmo" song, great, simple arrangement, very nice old "real" Coldplay stuff.
Ojalá vuelvan a hacer un disco tan bueno como Parachutes, ya pueden permitirse experimentar, llegaron a la cima.
damn i had a goosebump
Meus amoressss cantando minha música 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
me encanta este tema :)
Loved it
Este video live es un maravilloso tesoro de cold play ❤
And I want to see him😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😁
And an adventure of a lufetime together yess
And dont forgot us about 3 days time 😅
Spleen s'installe la mélancolie guitare lancinante basse batterie intense
You feel so bad cause you know💘they don't catch where we sleep✌💘
Magnifique chanson chantée avec passion et vérité👍il était une fois dans coldplay story☺✌
Remember Coldplay... 🕊️
No it's the same one: "The Man With The Harmonica" from "Once Upon A Time". :D
I looove the video
Intro music is Ennio Morricone from the spaghetti westerns
@47Foofighter It's a guitar slide. There used for eerie and smooth transitions in songs, just like it's perfectly executed in this video.
And a EBow
Yo deseo veros en Directo,,En España...Ya me avisaran,,,,(Espero)
me fez chorae
I think it's called "Man with harmonica" Muse usually covers it for Knights of Cydonia
damn right
16 year ago omg
What happened to coldplay?
thanks for the show! ^^
amazing! *-----*...
0:20, Jaguar & Telecaster, what do you need more ? :D
❤
I think the camera was spoiling their view of Coldplay!
That intro is IDENTICAL to Muse's intro to Knights of Cydonia... is that another piece of music?
definitely not crying
I think it's called "The Man With The Harmonica".
I think that's from a movie Once Upon A Time In The West.
2018....
Never gets old❤️
2019
Intro reminds me of School by Supertramp
this is different no similiraties for me maybe the slow guitar
Joeltaa347 harmonica intro...
aahh ok got it,
¡Me too! Crime on the Century
in all his looks
I m going to set fire to the keys on this mobiiiiileeeeee

GERNE!
1:20 🤯
Field of the Nephilim Harmonica Man at the intro?
Someone know which gadget Jony is using to get that sound at the start?
