    I noticed in one of your videos you have your lithium battery inside your black pack. Is there enough room in a SS127 for a dakota lithium and a black pack if the battery is not in the pack?

    • @BassThumbsFishing
      @BassThumbsFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I’ve updated my set up since that video and I run the battery in the very back behind the black pak in a battery box

    do they have a control that can raise the trolling motor shaft up or down incase you run into shallow water instead of pulling the cord to pull the trolling motor out of the water completely everytime?

    • @BassThumbsFishing
      @BassThumbsFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Teng Xiong no they do not that would be a great innovation. You can adjust the height before you go out if you know you’re going to be around a lot of cover

      Did you have to put a piece of poly board under the quick release to raise it so the pin would clear? I’ve seen several videos where they had to do this. Could you share which brand / model you installed. Great video keep them coming.

    Did you buy the quick release mount separate or was it included? And would the xi3 work well mounted from the transom?

    • @BassThumbsFishing
      @BassThumbsFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      J Adams yes I bought it separate. I would say no it’s a bow mounted trolling motor the back really wouldn’t make sense with this type of motor. It’s made specifically to move the water craft from the front.

  • @ToolsForLife
    @ToolsForLife 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey bud, how does this handle in rough conditions does the bow take on alot of water due to the weight of the motor?

    • @ToolsForLife
      @ToolsForLife 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also is there a way you could link the battery you are using?

    • @BassThumbsFishing
      @BassThumbsFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tools For Life hey man! I don’t have any issues when the water is rough when the water does come over the bow it just drains out and it’s never very much. I now use a 100ah Dakota lithium battery. I have some newer videos now of my new set up of this same rig with everything that’s on it linked in the description! 👍🏻

      @@BassThumbsFishing I am trying to do the same thing because I troll for walleye. Im trying to get a setup to where i can troll on the water for at least 10 hours if I wanted. How long does the battery last?

    • @ToolsForLife
      @ToolsForLife 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was just scared that the weight on the front of the boat would cause the front to ride low and take on water

  • @natetrawick1037

    Hey man! I have a SS127 as well. would it be possible to transom mount this unit? Do the holes on the quick release line up with inserts for the powerpole? Also, I would love to hear some long term feedback on your setup! Thanks!

    • @BassThumbsFishing
      @BassThumbsFishing  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey man thanks for the comment! I have some updated videos on my new set up that I’m running now which is very similar to this one just newer. I wouldn’t recommend mounting it to the back because it’s meant for the front. The steering on the front is way more effective than the back with this motor. Also I have been running a bow mount for almost two years on the ss127 and haven’t had any issues it’s been solid that front flat space on the ss127 is super sturdy and works perfect 👍🏻

    • @BassThumbsFishing
      @BassThumbsFishing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris Adams I was using a big group 27 at first but I switched to the blue top optima marine battery and haven’t had any issues. I’ve been on the water for 10 hours and it was still pushing a lot of power 👍🏻

      TEXASV8GRT thanks man! It wasn’t hard at all. You just take off the head of the motor and put a pvc inside the shaft so when you cut it you won’t hit the wires. 👍🏻

    Nice video! Nice boat, I just got mine. Do you think I could shorten my shaft about three more inches lower. 32” shaft? Will it sit deep enough in the water? Do you use the anchor anymore after installing the pinpoint gps on the motorguide? Just subbed and keep up the videos.

    • @BassThumbsFishing

      larryk113 hey man that’s incredible! Yes you can make 32” with no problem. Motorguide is working on a factory shaft for kayaks! I don’t use the anchor at all it’s mostly for looks now. The gps Pinpoint is a awesome feature! I’m going to make a on the water video soon, but man it’s worth every penny! Thanks for subbing. Keep your thumbs ripped

    • @BassThumbsFishing

      Brian Richard the back end is a little loose when paddling but the flex wings helped that issue. The motor doesn’t affect the stability at all when standing I stand all day long while I’m fishing
